Anyone know the size of the boot on the inner front CV joint. Mine is history and I want to fit one of the "stretchy" boots but they come in 3 different sizes.
Yes, I could jack it up and measure it but as it is pissing down here I thought I'd try the 'dry' way first :d

It's not that simple. The boot is shaped at the cup end.

Are you sure Nick? I thought that just the outer joints have the specially shaped boots only. The inner cv joint boots are (if memory serves me) the 'conventional' ones (just not sure which size they are, sorry).

I think you'll find it's the odd shaped ones that are the inner

Nicks right, the inner Cv boot is the three pointed type.
The easies way out of your problem is to leave the 3 pointed piece of the old Cv boot in place and fit a bailcast CV96 boot over it. You should pick one up at the local factor for about £8.00 to £10.00.
Once the Cv retainer bands are in place you wont know the difference.
I have done this on 3 occasions (on different cars)and the boots are stil in place.
Heres a link to the one you're looking for.
