And I thought I had spent a bit on my car this month:) Think I have spent about half that but the weather is getting better & I want to enjoy the VR4 over the summer months/yes

all the cost you have listed you have had to have been paid out what ever car you had.

apart from the CVR4 membership.
but you can't do without the club membership. weather you have a vr4 or not.

Dave would have driven the car with no tyres, to ensure that I had my cvr4 membership...

Yeah, it's a bit more than I was expecting. Was expecting the rear arms/drop links due to the after market arbs,

Eurospec 60k serviceTake it that was all fluids replaced with Amsoil & timing belt? If so That would be about right & why I do all my fluid change myself & got Gowf to do my timing belt.

Colin Wiltshire

Yeah, all fluids changed and cam belt as well as usual bits and check everything. Also was to find out why why car was smoking at Japfest then stopped smoking on way back. Could of been something to do with the fact I changed down to 3rd at 70mph to fend off a mate trying to pass me

That's nothing! Payed £3300 for the car last Wednesday, then had to shell out £850 on a new exhaust, then I discover it might not have had thecambelt some last year as stated by the salesman! So that's another potential £600! And now there is the threat of knackered Turbo seals/valve stem seals!! Still, at least I got trading standards involved now!

3300 for a legnum? That seems a tad expensive mate.

It was a bit pricey yes! Bought I thought by going to a garage that had a very good reputation I would actually for once get a car that I could just drive! Rather than having to spend money and fix problems!!

That was the first and last time I will ever buy from a garage!

That was the first and last time I will ever buy from a garage! This is why we always say to new member your better buying a members car/yes Not only are they usually better looked after but you can check there threads/post to see what they have done to there cars.

I learnt a valuable lesson! Its a good car fundamentally though.....maybe!! Depending on why its smoking on the overun, or if the garage can produce a bill proving the cambelt has been done like they told me despite me finding no documentary evidence in the history!!

Gary, I took that advice several years ago with mine.
Bought mine from an ex-member, in the morning, attended a RR at Eurospec on my way home, other than the fuel costs, I have never had a problem with mine ever, well other than what you would expect of a car that is nearly 17 years old. (Damm that's older than some of my students'!)

My advice to anyone would be buy from a member with rep anytime, but always due the standard background checks anyway.

But I feel for you mate, there is nothing like working and saving to get something nice for yourself only to find it's tired!

Gary, from where you are I would be inclined to get either Eurospec or NJ to look her over.
At least you know you will get someone who actually knows the cars and their foibles...

The damn thing owes me £4150 now with a possible cambelt change! I am also paranoid and swear I can hear an odd sound coming from the rear Turbo!!
