So just finished installing my new head deck, running wires for the amp and sub and connecting them up.
I dislike running wires, my fingers hurt lol

Next time you do it, take the seats out and the carpet. Makes it way easier.

taking the seats out is easier than running the wires along the doors? i doubt it, took 10 mins to run mine after i got them into the car

There you go, pictures :P The head deck is a JVC KD-R626, the sub is a Pioneer Champion Series one 1200w I think, so about 400 rms and the amp is a JVC DRVN Digital Mono Power one

Sean - depends how many cables you have to run, and how tidy you want it. I took the carpet out because I had 6 speaker cables, power, screen and remote cables to run - and I wanted no noise from anything. It's the best way to do it and make it neat.

ahh, i see your point now, what about just running down the middle and side/s if necessary?

Sean, im in the same boat as Dan...

I run power down the passenger side, speaker cables down the center and rca's down the drivers side, just to avoid noise... So taking the seats out is a minimum... When I re-do mine, ill have to take the carpet out too..

i was lazy, power and rca down passenger, but i only have stuff from old car, which only included sub and 2 amps, but only use one as lack or wiring and itl blow the door speakers

I used to do it that way years ago - but now that I like good clean sound, it's better to take the interior apart to do the sound install. Means you can also clean out the seats and carpet properly at the same time. You can barely see where my wires are running through the car, which is also another plus - sometimes the cables like to poke out if they are just stuffed down the side.

Of course, when you want to change something or isolate an issue, you have to rip half the interior apart, but that's what a multimeter is for when installing it all.

true, im just lazy and not bothered at the moment, maybe when i finally have some money for something better i might go for the better install
