Falkens @ 34 to 36 - works well on track (protects the shoulders) and the road (no excessive central tread wear).

Hope this helps Sean :)

Make sure you use a proper tyre gauge and not the one at the station. I do 36 Front / 34 Rear on my Sedan.

Tyre size doesn't make any difference to the recommended pressures published by the car or tyre manufacturer so the recommended pressures are around 32/29 (2.3/2.1 bar). As above, though, I run my 235/45x17s slightly higher at 34/31 and much higher on track (usually start at 40/40 in the dry, or 34/32 in the wet, and see how it goes).

My understanding was that you increase your pressure as your profile dropped...

I run 38/36 (F/R) on stock 225/50/16 tyres at the moment. I have found this to be quieter (tyres dont start to squeel so quickly) and I can feel less deformation of the tyres as I push around corners.

All in all, I find this pressure the best for me and my car.

I expect that with differences in weight and suspension setup, optimal tyre pressure will also change.

Same for me with a 'numleg' !! 34 PSI all round. 6000 miles on new Avon tyres now and very even wear. Like Brian, I go up to 40 PSI for the track to save my shoulders.

If I go any less on the rears it feels all 'Squirmy' going round my favourite constant-radius (test bend) entry onto the A1.

Thanks for all the input peeps, have been running 36/34 for almost 5 days now and all appears to be ok, definately rides better and not so much jarring (in fact very little now) through the pits and pots with the lowered suspension than 34 all round did, rear end isn't so squidgy now and the AYC doesn't light up so easily on corners now either.... ;)

PS, Must try harder.... :D :lipsrseal :rolleyes5
