After my gearbox change I sat on drivers seat with u presume gearbox oil on my arse, the material has now corroded :(

What you recon is cheapest solution?

Buy new non recaro seats.
Buy a set of 2nd hand recaro seats.
Retrim the current recaro seats?

I wonder if it's worth asking one of the pro's on detailing world who deal with interior repairs. There are a few people listed here - http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=59865
