Anyone an idea if the set is suitable?

I found also a guy which made me a manifold if i want:
http://www.ebay.de/itm/Colt-CZT-Smart-forfour-1-5-turbo-4G15T-Stosaufladung-Krummer-Manifold-NEU-/150852855897?_trksid=p5197.m1992&_trkparms=aid%3D111000%26algo%3DREC.CURRENT%26ao%3 D1%26asc%3D14%26meid%3D631667093098829471%26pid%3D 100015%26prg%3D1006%26rk%3D1%26
But i don´t want to pay to much money, like 2 manifold, 2 new turbos and also a new front pipe.

If anyone is interested in some mild steel manifolds with td04 adaptor flanges let me know as mid process having some made so future ones should be cheaper. Flanges will be moved slightly for ease of fit of new turbos

i don't think you would see much difference going for a -8 compressor wheel as opposed to a -7 compressor wheel.
but i could be wrong.

i say most people on hear would stay well clear of any rpw product,
past experiances with club members have not been good, and rpw has been banned from ozvr4 all together

Even if mentioned hybride was good quality, factor gain/value/money simply says - not worth a penny.

Being in their shoes I would focus on one of following products:
- Scuibi td04 manifolds for 6a13tt
- 3kGT manifolds for 6a13tt.
Anyway I don't get their logic.

I'm out then.
I will use Scubi td04.

If someone has the Scooby TD04's, I can get the flanges made for them as well & just get them swapped into the manifolds. Probably bring the price up a bit as they will have to make another template but if enough people interested they should still be cheap enough. Will get approx prices in a bit.

Chris, what about manifolds without mentioned flange? You can buy Scubi turbo flanges easily from eBay, and welding them shouldn't be a problem.

Right, just spoke to the garage doing mine. They are estimating for a kit, circa £450 or £750 fitted. They will need to confirm once they have finished mine but obviously as mine is the prototype future ones will be less. This will include all flanges, gaskets, modification of fmic & intake pipework, splitting & rotating turbos (if 3000gt ones) etc etc & its a max of 2x days to fit. For Scooby turbos, I would need a pair for them to work with as the flanges might need moving to get them to fit with minimal issues to anything else in the engine bay

That should be fine but its just down to where the flanges would need to go to fit properly

That I would leave to anyone fitting their td04 choice.
IMO, that's not a problem. People should be aware they need to align turbo with manifold to have clearance in rear (firewall and steering rack) or front (oil filter fitting, front engine mount).
More difficult is to fabricate exhaust side elbow to downpipe :)

Just trying to get my head around this, for £450 we'll get a pair of manifolds that'll allow us to drop in Scooby TD04s?

Yes. Agree with Jason.
So quoted figures are for all fabrication work involved excl. turbos itself? That's a very good price if it helps avoid hassle with wastegate actuator, exhaust elbow etc.
I can drop you my Scubi turbos in September to let them play with them regarding quotation. :)

Yep, thats the plan. Still waiting till mine are done to confirm all is good but spec will be as follows (ish)

15mm mild steel flanges for turbos
42.2mm s/s bends to wastegate outlets
50mm s/s to turbo outlets
44.5mm s/s bends for everything else

s/s used will be 304 to eliminate any issues with cracking.

Just spoken to them & they will only supply with flanges in place to eliminate any issues for fitment further down the line but

No buts, hopefully all as easy as that :) Should be able to confirm if any unexpected issues by the end of the week, then get exact prices once seen a pair of tubs. Can confirm GTO tub price by the weekend

For the sake of clarity, I think either this thread should be renamed or a new thread created for it, ideally with a more specific title such as "Subaru TD04 Manifold Development" :)

That I can relate to!

All I wanna do is (have some fun, and) get a solid plan for turbo upgrades for our car, instead of spending thousands we should be able to upgrade to readily available turbos from other cars for circa £1k (that's my hope anyway) :)

Yup, its a nightmare. Its a good problem to have but still a problem. £1000 will get everything done I would have thought. Mine is working out more but the garage seems to think that £750 + the price of turbos should cover everything

Well, there's plenty of recon turbos out there, there's a retailer in Birmingham down the road from me who sell loads; Tuning Parts Bay - Turbochargers (http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Tuning-Parts-Bay/Turbocharger-/_i.html?_fsub=894774013&_sid=233680713&_trksid=p4634.c0.m322)

Looks like a decent selection a good prices. I already have a pair of td04-13's from a 3000gt engine sitting here but as I refuse to do a manual conversion its not worth me getting anything bigger

swinks

Sounds good so far. :)
IMHO, we should go for Scubi TD04. Why?
Several advantages:
- technical characteristic is much better that GTO turbos. They are -13T (cold side) but with bigger hot side, hence easier to upgrade for -15T or even massive -19T units
- market is flooded with used units
- much more servicing parts available on the market
- layout of oil/water lines is easier to adopt for our 6a13TT engines
- cheaper than GTO/3kGT
- separate flange and gasket kits easy available on eBay
Disadvantages:
- some hassle with relocation of wastegate actuator (do-able tho)

So... workshop's job would be as follow:
- fabricate manifolds with Scubi turbo flanges
- fabricate brackets for actuator relocation
- modify cooling lanes
- fabricate pair of hot side exit to downppe elbows

Now, you know what to talk about Chris :)
