depends what error code is being logged.

have a search from diagnostic code reading this should find the thread that gives you the flasht dash eroor code reading procedure and the best bit is it costs you nothing to do.

It'll only be knock detection if the ROM has been flashed in such a way so that the CEL lights up when knock is detected. Otherwise, it is not a standard feature.

And yes, bad mounts can cause phantom knock (or rather, physical knocking, that the knock sensor detects and believes is detonation knock).
