When removing the cat on a VR4 do you remove the two resonators as well or leave them be? When the cat is removed do you get any popping when decellerating?

Cheers

With the standard exhaust system and just a decat, MBC and panel filter, I used to very occasionally get the odd pop from the exhaust when decelerating, but that was it. :)

The problem is that the injectors stop fuelling when you lift off the throttle and engine brake. So no popping. If you have an atmospheric dump valve it might help? Or very bad turbo oil seals! /pan

I'd leave the resonators in too, they aren't much of a restriction and they help prevent exhaust drone.

I forgot to mention - I only ever got it to pop when the exhaust was HOT hot, and I'd just been giving it beans! /yes

So all I have to do is get my local muffler wizard to custom fabricate a section of pipe to put in where the cat used to be?

Yep!

Or purchase a decat pipe for an Evo 4/5/6. :)

I bought one from these guys for less than £40 and I was very pleased with it!
