Hey everyone,
I have a question regarding the check engine light and how to remove/check what it actually is.

I have a PFL Galant and originally had a 7201 Metal Cased ECU. Some time ago i got my hands on a Mines Tuned ECU and have fitted this without any issues. Car runs awesome and I love the way the car works after the change. Only Issue is i get the CEL light on after about 5minutes of driving and it doesnt go off. Anyone know what this could be or help me figure out what it is? I have a feeling the Mines ecu is from an Auto VR4 and needs resetting... If i was to look at doing this myself or even logging what its actually doing what kind of log cable should i buy? An Evo Scan 1.3U or a 2.0? Would love some help.

Cheers

Did you pull the codes?

If its a Mines ECU then there is nothing that you can do with the map on them as they are locked... :(

My suggestion is to check the codes as above, and send the number on the gold mines badge on the ecu to Mine's to see the config of it.

Is yours a manual?

If so, probably need the periphery changed to turn off TCL.

In other news, I hope to be able to unlock Mines ECUs. I've de-soldered a 7202 from a Mines ECU, soldered it to a 112 pin qfp dev PCB. Currently designing a second PCB to interface this to a EEPROM programmer to pull the locked rom off it.

Yep mine is a manual and id imagine the vr4 it was originally out of was a automatic with TCL. Anyone in Auckland/North island that can do the mod BCX is talking about? Cheers!

I've shared the mine's configuration somewhere here and there's nothing special. They havent really looked into it you know... +3 on ignition in the power region. (will cause knock) and a little leaner mixture. Fuel cut is moved a little upper and desired boost levels are at stable 0,8 bar I think
