So after taking the Legnum up the road and losing power and it turning off :uhoh:

I realised that it was the throttle body elbow as it has popped off a few times before.

So a quick fix and slowly went back home.

Took the elbow off and this is what I find:

O ring thing is well.. The picture explains it :quasi:

Elbow looks interesting too.

And the clamp notches are a bit deformed

So following Swinks's Guide (http://www.clubvr4.com/forum/showthread.php?50728-Hard-pipe-kit-DIY-guide&p=567473#post567473)

But instead of using 70 degree pipe I used a 45 degree pipe.

After trial and error, cutting bits off here and there it now fits :d

Just got to do the vacuum outlets now

Make sure you keep the restrictor pill in the lines from the original pipe.... You can have boosting issues without it... ;)

Sorry to bring up an old thread

Reece, Did you use a 45 degree pipe for y-pipe to the intercooler or did you find a 70 degree pipe?

Also you did you get your mikalor style clamps from?

Cheers.

Ummmm I used 45 degree pipe, 2.75" and I got the clamps from Scarles in Auckland. But we sell the clamps at my work, so could get you a good price if you want?

It was a lot of trial and error, so under cutting the pipe instead of over cutting it lol

You can get away with 45 degree bends. If you're like me and had no air box to start with, you can just use a straight bit of pipe and make up a cold air box where the battery normally sits instead.

Might do that down the line but will just do that part with 45 degree pipe for now

If it's easier you can also go for 3" and then use a 3" to 2.75" 90 degree silicone joiner.

Bender

So using a 3" pipe would be better in the long run?

It depends if you are looking at bigger power later on. I only went 3" post-intercooler because I was looking at doing the TD04 upgrade down the track, and I had spare 3" piping/silicone lying around.

3" pipe should be easier to find though.

I won't be looking for big power, I have found everything on trademe I need but from the clamps
