View Full Version : Thoughts on turbo upgrades not TD04s

Nowadays it seems that car manafacturers are climbing over themselves to bolt turbos on small engines. I'm sure this must mean that turbo designs are advancing and different turbos are going to be filtering on to the tuning market.

When going for turbo upgrades on the 6a13tt maybe there are newer options than the TD04s or t28s that are typically chosen, Possibly with a more suitable/compact design?

I actually have no idea what turbos are being used on these tiny engined cars but nearly every maker is bolting them on.

Just a few thoughts really.

I've wondered the same myself. Granted availability/cost of the newer turbos may be restrictive but if it cuts down on the overall cost of the conversion then perhaps it's worth considering. I don't think that there may be much performance gain compared to the tried and tested so it's back to the old VFM or BPB (bang per buck) :)
