Hi Folk

I want to install a Boost controller on my 2002 VR4 (well in fact I'll get my local dealer to do it as I'm not sufficiently competent!! :dozey: ). They recommended I source the part from Xtreme however Marcus at Xtreme informs me they no longer supply said gadget.

Can folk recommend an alternative source? What makes, part numbers do you chaps recommend and why? What will it cost me?

All/any help much appreciated

Thanks - Nev

If cost is an issue, which I very much doubt, the Manual type (Bren Device) is quite handy at around £30. Downside is adjustability, i.e. under the bonnet.

Electronic is the way to go. Varying ease of set up / adjustment. Varying cost £100 - £300+

I have an Apexi AVCR, but I am not quite sure it is suited to the autobox.
It is adjustable beyond comprehension, but therein lies its biggest pitfall. ;)

In hindsight, I would have probably gone for the Greddy, which seems to get good write ups, regardless of the car its fitted to.http://www.sxoc.com/vbb/images/smilies/yes.gif

Any advice on a reputable supplier for the Greddy unit?

Try Here (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=43120&item=7946474497&rd=1)

He is a reputable Ebay shop runner.
I got my Apexi gear from him, and it nearly always beats the uk shop price.
Delivery is real quick too, considering the distance. :-D

If you are quick (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=43120&item=7946283874&tc=photo)

This also gets good reviews and I think a few people on CVR4 have got these.

Having done a little bit more reading, the Profec B (spec II) looks pretty good.

Where's the favoured location for fitting the display unit?

I will be relocating my AVCR into where the clock currently resides - a la BDA style.

If you like your clock too much to lose, I'm sure it could be mounted on top of the steering column, or below it, either side - in line with your shins.

Or, just simply on top of the dash, above the existing dials.

All a matter of taste. :-D

L-B, thanks for all the help, especially at that hour of the UK day- I went for the Greddy PROFEC B-SPEC 2 (£199.95) which will be waiting for me when I get home by the end of next week.

Was the same ebay guy as you recommended
