I've only heard of bad reports of them as In people not receiving goods or service. Apologies if I'm wrong but google also throws a lot of negative reports up!

Don't worry, I've fixed this into a new thread for you

What ECU do you have now - bog standard one?

http://www.trldevelopments.co.uk/ecu-remapping

Vipec quoted on that page as £1650. Much more like the prices I'd expect. I'd assume that is fitted & mapped though, as I think the retail price of the ecu is £1k plus VAT. Either way, if £700 is an option I'd be very interested.

If you read MLR there is recent thread that shows really poor service with a damaged engine and avoiding responsibility...

700 quid might get you a timeshare on a Vipec. Theres a few going on the MLR for 800 - 900. then you got to fit, map etc.

£1900 sounds much closer to the cost I was expecting! (That might be a few pounds more than Eurospec - I can't remember exactly.)
darren1976 I am pretty sure Jason ( foxdie ) can tune any VR4 ecu now. It might be worth a call to him if you just want a quick tweak?

As said before, it's effin good bargain Steve. Unfortunately, can't snatch it right now due to unforseen circumstances in my household, but within next few months if not sold it will be mine :)

Yep, I can remap all 8th Gen V6 (Twin Turbo and N/A) Galant / Legnum ECUs, but it's all about what your looking for.

If you're only after a few more horses (up to as much as +40HP, depends entirely on the health of your car and what supporting modifications have been done), then a remap is for you.

If you want to take it seriously, going down the route of cam changes, turbo upgrades etc, then a ViPEC is highly recommended.

In both cases, Ben Eurospec can help you out with the resources to back it up (such as a dyno etc), if you just want a quick remap then I can help with that too.
