Hi, wandering about the bushing in the curved arm in the front suspension, can the bushing be replaced? or does the whole arm have to be replaced? went to see what the cost was of the whole arm and they said i could get the bushing on its own, so a pair is being shipped to the store, have to replace both sides to pass a wof, not keen on having to pay for both arms though, would save me almost $200 in parts if i can just replace the bushings.
I did try search, only thing that is relevant to this is someone saying it cant be done, just wanting to make sure.

I have seen several eBay auctions with separate bushing for replacement. Usually they are listed as Galant 7g suspension servicable parts. There is one thing you have to be careful: hole alignment in metal bar which is going through bushes, holes suppose to be little offset.
Here you can have polybush version:

Last time it was 100 PLN each plus shipping. Quoted 75 PLN is discounted if customer supply them with whole suspension arm.

I would think that if the bushing is worn, the ball joint at the other end is likely on its way out as well, so it might be best to replace the whole arm while you're at it. Admittedly the loads on the ball joint aren't as great as those on the straight arm's ball joint, but if the bushing is worn, it has obviously seen some load.

Scott, from experience of Polish Galant n/a users, usually mentioned bushing gets worn quicker than ball joint in the same arm. I guess it's down to different forces working on each end of arm.

thanks for those, but i already got the bushes, cost $42 for both of them, so about 20ish pounds, so pretty cheap compared to the whole arms which are about $130 each, getting the bushes installed tomorrow, just gotta sort the leaking exhaust gasket lol, thats been leaking since i did transfer case about 9 months ago haha, because i didnt wanna wait another day to have car back on the road so i reused it in pretty bad condition

well things could be better, better as in if i hadnt threaded one of the bolts for the arm

just hoping that the bolt hole in the subframe is ok, although im guessing its not, so if thats the case i guess its a trip to the mechanic, thatl hopefully be curtesy of roadside assistance, even though cars in the drive, probably have to think of some bs reason for needing them to get the car to a mechanic, not very impressed by this situation /Grrr, any thoughts of the odds of the bolt hole being stuffed as well?

They won't touch it if the car isn't in one piece so get it back so it can be rolled

with a bit of luck, a mechanic can re-tap the thread in the sub-frame, as it looks like its just the end of the bolt that's messed up.
