we have only had the car about half a year and already the garage told us to get the fuel tank changed due to several problems occuring on the vr4's, fuel leak or something. Has this happened to anyone else?

Top Gear mag ran a Legnum for a year and it had to have its tank replaced. They complained they could smell petrol all the time and only got 14mpg. Its the only thing I've heard about it.

My vr4 was bought in 2001 from official dealer in HK. In May this year my car was recalled back to the dealer to fix the fuel tank, it's not only me but the whole fleet of vr4 in HK. I had asked the dealer what's the problem but they didn't answered my question just say routine inspection.

However before the case I couldn't feel any problem about the fuel tank at all.

Top Gear .... only got 14mpg

Surprised they did not try and beat the world record caravan pulling speed record with it LOL !:D
