Hey guys

Got an issue with gaps on the old girl. It seems to have been in a front end accident but has been repaired, runs straight and true but it hasnt been lined up straight.
Wings, bumper, bonnet and grill all line up nice at the very front but goes to cock when nearing the screen, one wing sits close to the bonnet, the other sits away from it.
Other thing thats annoying is that every door has been removed at some point as the paint round the bolts has been disturbed/original marks can be seen.
Thats nothing compared to the drivers door which seems to have been replaced and bolted back on without original welded bolts, resulting in a door which sits about 5-8mm proud of the wing near mirror, a little high against rear door, is in too far at the bottom and sticks out at the top causing it not to seal properly and rattle about a bit.

Any ideas on how to rectify drivers door fitment, only get movement on car side of hinge not the door (supposed to be welded)?
Does anyone know if the hinges are fitted before goin on the car, (in a jig, hence use of welded bolts) making them unique to that car?
Also does anyone know what size the gaps should be?

Thanks in advance

wings are just bolted on so they can be realigned if needed, not sure about the doors,

what do you mean welded bolts?

Hi Dave

If u look at the door hinges there are 2 bolts on the car and 2 on the actual door. The 2 on the door have a spot weld holding them on

No there are no welded bolts both 2 bolts on the door and hinge can also be alligned. depends on the crasg it had might have bend the hinge or even pillar as as small as 1mm disturbance would cause a prominent gap.
