Crazy speedometer

Hi all. My speedometer sometimes working and sometimes not. Can you give me some answers what to do, is it easy to fix or better buy new/used?

I had the same problem with my speedo a couple of years ago.
Sometimes it worked and other times, the needle didn't move.

After a week or so I got fed up with it and got it checked. Turned out to be the kph/mph speedo converter that had died.
I bought a new one and all has been well since.

IIRC it worked out at about £30 for the new part and £20 or so to get fitted :)

Same happened to me a few years ago, especially in heavy rain, same cure, the converter

i have this every journey , when i push the accelerator it increases and when i let go it goes down . on the occasion that i brake and stop it goes all the way to 0 .:P

Little late I know but I have the same, I'll accelerate hard and look down at the speedo whilst in 3rd at 5000rpm and apparently im only doing 20mph lol. Had a quick look behind the instrument cluster and one of the wires from the speedo converter looks squashed so reckon this is my issue. Just havent had a chance to sort it yet. Be interesting to know if this was your issue too :)
