Wow what a car. The engine purrs like a kitten and it's very eager to please. Can't believe how well it's built. Still rock solid after 11 years. Very happy and looking forward to driving it. Have to replace the front brake pads and discs but otherwise it's a real gem! And then I found this website. Didn't know when I bought the car I became part of a special club!

Mine was about the same when i bought it in December 2012. Pretty good overall condition with few rust patches underneath and engine bay. Wheel arches are nice and straight with minor rust bubbles. I'm going to sand that off and seal properly so bye bye rust! Bodywork is nice and straight with few scratches here and there, nothing that could not be easily fixed.

Hello again! Yeah that's a beauty. Love the rear spoiler.

I have a question.. not sure if this is the right place to ask? When I got the car I experienced vibration through the steering wheel when braking, especially at high speed. My local mechanic recommended I replaced the front brake discs and pads. Did all that and the car was fine for the first week but this morning the vibration appeared again when i reached 50mph and when I braked it was worse than before! Any ideas?

Yes, the stock brakes are pants!

They can suffer especially badly from judder. Not due to the discs warping (common misconception) but from leaving the brake on having come to a complete stop. These are particularly susceptible to the heat effects of a hot spot on the brake disc, which affects the disc itself, effectively unbalancing it.

If you can keep your foot off the brake after coming to a stop (i.e. using the handbrake) then this is a massive help.

On our V6, I put on grooved discs, EBC Red Stuff pads and changed the brake fluid to ATE Super Blue, but still used the stock calipers. This set-up was very nice and we had no problems, even after a few laps of the Nurburgring.

The first thing I did after buying my V6 was to change the front discs & pads.

I usually engage Park when the car is at a prolonged stop.

Thanks gentlemen! Followed your advice this morning and there is a noticeable difference in the virbation level. Will carry on like this and start making the other recommended changes as time and money becomes available :)

Me too I was the 1st to ever order ebc yellow stuff pads from ebc .
And I had to wait 1 1/2 for them to be made and tested .....
I was the only one in the uk to ask for them
that's. .....? EBC never made yellows for n/a v6 galant/ legum they only done up to reds on the cars .
And thats why you can get yellow's now
Because my set is the make number 01.
