I have no idea whats fitted to my car if i was to change both sides of the rear shocks[one side has started leaking] would they have to be the same make as the front i've has no experiance with coil overs etc

if they are standard shocks ,they dont have to be same as the front ,but it would be good if they were.
if coilovers are fitted you will need to swap for coilovers again as springs wont suit standard shocks or swap all four for standard shocks with lowering or standard springs.

The car is lowered thats for the reply the car is still in bits in the garage so will get the guy to have a look for me

So would it be ok to have coilovers at the rear standard at the front??
