I think I may need to replace my lambda sensor, would there be any benefit in fitting a wideband one instead of the standard narrow band ?

The standard ECU wont connect directly to a wideband lambda sensor. You would have to fit a wideband controller that has a simulated narrow band output on it.
I have a used but good narrow band if you want it. It doesnt have a connector on it... I cut it off to use with my wideband setup.

I have found that my vr4 was more fuel efficient after fitting a wideband set up and running simulated narrow band.

One of the cheapest wideband sensor and controllers with a simulated narrow band output is the MTX-L fron innovate Motorsport.
They can be bought from about £130 new from ebay, and other supplier.
