Calum,

did you get my Pm.

Looking at this thread again I think I may have miss read it. I thought you were going to ask weebl as well, to see if your m8 can get more. On reading it again you are maybe waiting on me to give an answer :help: :dozey: :rolleyes5

can your m8 get any more.

Only reason I said PM me was. He said because I used to be a member he would give me a FEW as long as I did not take the p1ss, he also said keep it quite as he did not want everyone know we were getting some.

not sure if 8 is a few is it?

do you want me to see if I can get 8?

Paulmc,

I think the MLR are ordering theirs tomorrow. I have spoken to my mate who said he forwarded my request to Weebl, and that you've been in touch with Weebl and it's ok for teh vr4 guys to get these.

Just one question - what's the plan for payment/ despatch?

If you need a hand or need me to cover teh payment upfront then let me know.

Cheers,

I have sent everyone interested a pm re payment, (Weebl asked me to keep it quiet) they have ordered and paid by paypal, in the comments bit at the bottom they have put their names and addresses for posting. Weebl will send them out as soon as they arrive. Some have not replied to my pm so not sure if they have ordered or not.

Must say Weebl has been very helpful as have you.

thanks

VR4 saloon Kerb weight=1520kg (3351 lbs)
VR4 Estate Kerb weight=1570kg (3461 lbs)

VR4 Saloon gross weight=2110kg (4652 lbs)
VR4 Estate gross weight=2160kg (4762 lbs)

Any ideas what the exact differences between gross & kerb weight are?
4 people? / 5 people?/full tank of gas?

I know from the bike world that manufacturers often quote weights without ANY fluids - just to keep the bidding wars going between rivals. Is this the same with cars & kerb weights?

I'm kinda assuming that for measuring HP I'll need to put in legnum kerb weight+driver+fuel. About 3650 lbs?

Very pleased with that, but obviously need to do more and average them as it says in the book to authenticate the times.

Nope, just the normal exhaust, air filter, boost controller mods like most people. Was lovely and cool today though and my fan was blowing in lots of nice cold air to the filter.

AFAIK LRP is about the same oct as SUL, so probably not.
LRP is only used VERY occasionally, if I can't get SUL, over time it could deposit sodium (or whatever additive is used instead of lead) on your valves. It certainly goes well on it though!!

Funnily enough, the lady at the filling station commented that did I know I'd just filled up with LRP, since normally that pump is just used for people with jerry cans for their mowers!! :)

Still done 5.1 with no nitrous........Autos rule!

wirdy mate, cant have that... You may need to do a 2nd gear launch!

Apparently the trick is to take her up to 4500 or 5000 (2nd gear) then let the clutch enough so it grabs but still slips enough not to bog. you then should be able to fully engage pretty fast as not to compleatly ruin your clutch. this is apparently the skill bit, as the better you are the less clutch wear you will get.

Theory is that so long as something slips (clutch or tyres) you dont ruin your drive train.

I'd be tempted to do this myself if I had the gear to get 0-60 times.

EDIT: I dont actually advise you do it wirdy... I dont mean this post to be taken seriously as egging you on to do a 2nd gear launch. have fun with your G-Tech! :2thumbsup

Still done 5.1 with no nitrous........Autos rule!

For now, only your auto is better than manuals... but that should change! :)

There is no need for Skill, :) as much as with manual, to get good, consistent and fast launches on auto box...

I am getting "launch control/flat shift" that will put autos where they belong! :) Full boost start from pre-set RPMs, shifting on WOT (means nothing is vented and you stay on boost) should make a difference. Does on 3S cars and EVOs!

Seriously, I think in terms of performance on VR-4 - autos and manuals are very close... so its up to the driver and amount of mods to decide who is better, not what kind of transmition you have!
