Is yours FL or PFL? and Auto or Manual?

I have a PFL Auto ECU sitting here.

As it looks like you have a uk spec V6 galant, I would imagine the workshop manual is great for you, but if it is the manual for your car then it does not cover the VR4 specific stuff, Which I think is what he is after, but I could be wrong.

There is a vr4 manual in japanese in the library it has all the 6a13tt specific stuff in it. but it is only available to paid up members.
You would have to translate the sections you need to use yourself though.

I have just bought a 96 vr4 a few days ago, I have the Japanese manual you are talking about in this post and stumbled upon this website trying to find an english one. My car was a JDM import to New Zealand so I don't have an english manual. If i read your post right would I be correct in assuming that a regular Galant manual in english would tell me what I need to know? or should I send my book off to a translator?

The english manuals only cover the 4G6, 6A1 and 4D6 engines, The japanses covers the Vr4 engine and the 4G6 (from memory).

If it's the exploded diagrams, you can normally work it out but for anything else it is rather difficult.

If you have soft copies, I've also used http://www.onlinedoctranslator.com/translator.html a few times, It's not perfect but again has so far given enough of a hint that I've managed to work from it combined with the English manuals

there was an english conversion of the Jap manual done a few years agao and it cost about £50 a copy i think, there were two books.
unfortunately the translation was not very good and they missed out loads of stuff. the transmission and all the error code flow charts and fixes.

the info they do have in them is very similar to the UK spec manual. it was a real shame that they did not do a proper job translating the jap manual as it could have been really good instead of being mediocre.
