These can be made either Blue, Red or Blank.

It has been designed this way to help save time and it enables the buyer to 'Customise' to their hearts desire. I won't be producing any 'Peter M' replicas.

If you wish to customise your engine cover, please contact Dave- 666damned. He is very helpful and will be able to help with any requests you have for stickers. He can do most things.

If you are interested in one of these, please post on this thread and I will sort a list. That way I know exactly how much materials I need. It also helps stop me losing track with PM's.

As I have a mould, I can make them to order ;)

These have been made by hand and as such are not totally perfect. I'm not a professional, this is just a hobby.
I will try my best to make sure they are all as good as I can get them. If you're really not happy, PM me and I'll do my best to sort it out.

These are £90 posted to UK.

Sorry for the small price increase, but the materials are fairly expensive and they take up to 3 days to make.
I don't mind posting these outside the UK, although I may have to add on a little extra. This club is worldwide after all :)

Please try and be a little patient with me as I have 2 Legnum customising projects on the go aswell.

**Upon first fitment of the new engine cover, please DO NOT tighten it right down as this can lead to warping. It will need a short perod of time to properly cure in our über hot engine bays. **

Hoi Peter. Proost Alex

Hello Alex, looks the mutts nuts and you say just a hobby :smart:
I'm fed up at looking at my original cracked cover everytime i pop the hood!
I'll have one in red please, pm me paypal details, many thanks.

When you have a bit more spare time...........:thinking2 how about carbon air intake pipe and original air filter box and maybe progression onto interior trim parts such as air vent surrounds, door release handle back cover, elecy window control panel :D

Gingerfish
09-07-2013, 08:25 AM
Cheers Mark. I'm in the process of making some more at the moment so shouldn't be long. I'll put you on the list :)

Those parts sound über-fiddley! I could probably do the door handle surrounds without too much problem. Only trouble is, I don't think there would be much demand for it.

I've thought about having a go at doing my front fenders/wings in Carbon-fibre. I'd probably have a go at that just for my own car to see how it goes. That's a bit in the future though.

Ok cheers Alex.

I have been scouring the net for carbon wrap that is similar to Center facia (grey/yellow weave mimic), but not found anything close, as of yet. Also added problem of thickness of wrap which would hinder the movement of an air vent, would have to do some serious rubbing down. :/

In your first post you say not to tighten downfully to allow ful drying would it be advise able to put some spacers behind as your covers are not as thick as standard covers just a thought as im very intrested but need time to sort funding

I don't think spacers would make much difference really. You'd need a lot of spacers to lift it away from the engine. As long as the bolts holding the cover down aren't wiggling, it should be fine.
hypocrit3, I'll add you to the list :)

Hello Alex,
cover arrived today .... huge thank you.......
63254

Its a perfect fit and all holes lined up. I had to make holes a fraction bigger to allow the shank of the bolt to pass through, and tomoz i will file out a little notch for cable in the bottom left corner /GJ

I know it looks like i have a yellow and red stripe ...... it is all red just useless camera on iphone gives wrong colour in sunlight

Did you use the original bolts? You just made the holes bigger with a drill?

Gingerfish
21-07-2013, 10:12 AM
A drill is fine to use on these if you need to. Put a small piece of masking tape over the area though, to keep the drilling tidy.

Did you use the original bolts? You just made the holes bigger with a drill?

The front three bolts fitted perfectly, replaced the rear two as they were a bit shy on length, and used a rubber washer between head of bolt and cover.
I used a new step cutter and a small needle file to enlarge the holes :D

Tomorrow at work i will put in 2 hex M6 (1 male/1female) standoffs so i can use the original bolts for the rear ones.
Standoffs available from Farnell or RS components, in ali, brass nikel plate or nylon.

Even with google translate it's difficult to find out what you have done with the bolts..

The 3 in the front fit perfect without extra drilling?

The 2 in the rear ones were too short?

What size did you use?

What are the standoffs you want to use? Pictures?

I want to fit the cover this week and I don't like surprises..

All 5 holes need enlarging to 8mm.

Front 3 are right height

Rear 2 are too short. My temporary fix is using 2 new M6 30mm bolts. However tomorrow will be removing these and placing standoffs below cover so I can use original bolts.
Pictures will follow tomorrow :)

Thank you very much in advance!

Hello Serge as requested pics.
You don't have to do it this way, its just what i had to hand. hope it helps :)
To add, when i find some 8-10mm thick rubber grommets i'll put these around the bolts to alleviate pressure on the carbon.

Nice job there Mark.

Good solution. I'm currently holding mine on with a couple of rubbish bolts that have the wrong thread.
I must do something about that.

If you still got the original bolts, would you like me to send you a couple of these standoffs, or have you mullered the original thread?

That would be marvelous chap!
It should re-thread easy enough.

You'll have to let me know what I owe you, obviously.

Plus you've provided a simple, yet affective solution for everyone that buys these. /GJ/thankyou
