why would you spend 900$ on a personlised plate let alone one thats car specific??

i can see the point if you have a few $$ to burn and its something that means something to yourself.

+1

Your plate needs to be mirrored, so that scared people can read it in the rear view mirror. :D

They actually vet plates, so you cant have any hidden messages in them...

$900 is actually quite cheap really...

in the UK a very unspecific plate could cost upwards of $2000nzd

because there are hardly any to choose from now, rich people pay upto $100,000 for something they really want.

think of it as an investment.

When I visited Australia and New Zealand earlier in the year, I couldn't help but notice the personal plates everywhere. In this country the plates run to a format, and if they read something so be it, but the idea of choosing a plate to suit your car or your name/company (if nobody else has it and it isn't offensive) appeals to me and also a lot of you it seems. Anyway at the end of the day it's only a bit of fun, and if you can afford it go for it. :d

I have a personalised plate for my Toyota Supra. The thing about it is, its only obviously a personalised plate if you know a fair bit about toyotas. The plate is UZA80. I'll let you guys figure it out,

V8 into Supra from Lexus?

V8 into Supra from Lexus?

Yeah, essentially (It's actually a Toyota V8 from a Celsior, but other than the badge on the top, they're identical). The Mark IV Supra's chassis code is JZA80, and Toyota's chassis codes start with the engine series (in this case JZ). So, because I've swapped a 1UZ-FE into it, it's now a UZA80.

It did, but the radiator was too small so bit overheated in traffic. I'm getting a new engine ready to go into it at the moment.

I agree. but there are a select few that I wouldnt mind.
A mates old Evo 5 RS has CP9ARS
and Brads legnum has 6A13TT which is cool.
but most are terrible

Especially the ones that are featured on say... a BMW M3 for example and the registration is M3. This is only bettered by those that also have an M3 but because the M3 registration is taken they add 1 M3 1 or something equally ridiculous. The thought process behind that is appallingly vapid!

Yeah I don't understand those which belong to a specific car.

If they mean something to you personally, then no matter what car you got you can put it on.
