but best to replace the box for cone with adapter! Or is bad idea?

that's only good if you have it set up as a cold air box. If you put a cone filter in place of the original with the MAF still connected, you WILL LOSE POWER. This is due to the extreme heat under the bonnet and the need for the air to flow smoothly over the MAF sensor.

This swap has been tried before and proved to be a good way to reduce the power of the car.

Put a panel filter in as suggested above.

I have a K&N panel filter here that i'm not using.

You can use a pod on the maf if you have the correct maf adaptor and its in a cold air box.
