Brief Encounter - too short
From Here To Eternity - too long
Great Expectations - overhyped
Philadelphia - too cheesy
Perhaps something that gives you a lift (Taxi Driver)
Or something groundbreaking (Earthquake)
Some films have vision (A Room With A View)
Some are a simply a work of art (Mona Lisa)
Some blow you away (Gone With The Wind)
Some are at the cutting edge (the Lawnmower Man)
Some are memorable (Total Recall), some less so (The Forgotten)
Some are well directed (North by Northwest), others lack direction (High Plains Drifter)
Some horrors make you scream (The Howling), others are real howlers (Scream)
There are films that are dark (Men in Black), while others are much lighter (The Shining)
Films for cricketers (The Third Man)
Films for tennis players (Ace Ventura)
Films for darts players (House of Flying Daggers)
Films for footballers/anglers (The Net)
Films for golfers/anglers (Hook)
And there are even movies for the couch potato (Goodbye Mr Chips, M*A*S*H)
Hmm, this is going nowhere (Gridlock'd). I thought it had potential, but apparently not (As Good As It Gets), but I've got this far so I'm going to post it anyway (Against All Odds!)...
Sorry (Unforgiven?)
Nev
