Afternoon,
My names Dickie (Richard), just thought id pop in to say "hello". For the last year iv been wanting to upgrade from my Gsi Vectra to something a bit quicker but keeping the big family car. Last night while browsing car sales I stumbled across the Legnum which I had never heard of but now I think I will have to get one! So thought here would be the best place for me to get some more info on these beasts!

Good plan! :)

Let us know of anything you are looking at, as we can often spot things in photos, eBay ads, etc.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

There is loads of info on the site, so have a browse and there are also a few cars for sale at the moment.

The Galant/Legnum VR4 is a fairly well kept secret around these parts so I'm not surprised you haven't heard of them before... we quite like it that way!

Try and get a ride in a club members car before you buy so you know how it should go and what to look out for, I'm sure there will be someone near to you

There are bargains to be had as its a buyers market at the moment. These cars are not known for their fuel economy so they can be hard to shift for their true value.

I think £2K should get you a good example. Hold out for one with good service history. You may also find a lightly modified car in your price range (exhaust, BOV, decat) but a standard car with good history will be a better buy than a modified one without.

If you are good with spanners, they are not too bad for servicing but paying a garage to do a cambelt will end up costing you many hundreds of pounds.
