so i currently reside in northern Alberta, Canada...
it will reach -40 C here easily and remain an average -20..

i need to find a block heater for it and i'm having tons of trouble..

as far as i understand its the same block as the diamantes with the SOHC 6a13 but now it doesn't want to show up on the mitsubishi system here in canada.

im doing the timing belt/water pump very soon and want to find something before then.

Where should the heating element be mounted? You have mounting instructions for the 6A13 Diamante? Maybe we can check the position on our cars.

All I can say is, that the blocks are similar. The difference is mainly above, in the heads etc.

The 6A13SOHC has minor differences in that there are some turbo drains that go back in to the block on the DOHC. These are blanked off in the cast for the SOHC.

The block heater for Galant 6A13 NA SOHC is a direct fit, have one in my Legnum. It should be fitted in the back of the engine, there are frost plugs there.
The manual says it should be installed in position F2 (above the output from transfer case to right wheel) You need to remove downpipe to get enough working space
Have an Ebersprächer with phone remote control in the Galant that is really convenient

thats crazy about the phone control, ive never heard of anything like that.

we have to plug everything in all night/all day here as some nights it can reach -50...

so i went to that Defa.com and theres no way to order parts from it eh?
yay my next problem...

Attention! As far as I understand, Defa systems are working with 220V. Don't know how situation in Canada is... Here are the separate part numvers needed:

Defa heater element 106 - part# 411106 - 80 EUR (in Germany)
Defa power cable kit - part# 460762 - 70 EUR
Defa connecting kit - part# 460785 - 42 EUR

I can buy in Germany if you like and send over to Canada. Just let me know, if you struggle to find the parts in CAN/US.

Btw, Mitsubishi Mirage with 1.8ltr engine (1992-1995) has the same heater element. Probably you can find one for that car easier?

According to The Defa website, the heater element is identical (same part#). But it's only listed for the 1.8l engine.(4G93 engine code).

They have listed one for the 4G93 engine for Expo/Mirage models. If you are unsure, why not install a radiator hose heater? They have some as well...
