Is it normal for a vr4 clock display to reach 99999 then clock back to 00000. As this is what mine is now displays now. Was expecting it to go 100000.

Pretty certain it should roll over to 100000 - mine's on ~145000 now

Even the V6 I had with the normal dials had 6 digits on it.

That's what I thought. Doesn't make sense to me.

It's possible that it was tampered with which can cause weird things like that to happen.

Alternatively it could just be a dodgy digit.

The speedo has been converted to mph so perhaps could have been knocked. Or like you say a dodgy digit. Just annoying. Looks good reading 00009. Like a brand new car.

It wouldn't show the leading zeroes if it had rolled back to zero. The hundred thousand digit is probably not working. :)

:iagree:

Think you got a dodgy digit chap! :D

Is there any thing I can do to get it working. Or just buy a 2nd hand dash display. Or just leave it.......

I'd just leave it personally. If it's not really causing any problems, you can probably just put it down to being another wierd qwerk of the car. Pretty sure we all got those in some form or other in the VR4 world :)

I think that's what I will do. Like you say it's just another qwerk to add to our loved cars. I expect it will work next week.

I have a FL VR auto dash with all lights working at approx 102,000 if you do decide to replace it. At least then if you time the change right the mileage will be accurate :)

Quick flog it, low mileage like that you might get a few hundred quid for it!

Mines a manual though. Will that have any working effect on it? Could be interested, how much?

As far as I am aware it is just the addition of P R N D 1 2 3 4 5 down the middle. I have been using it in a manual car with no issues & was just going to put a sticker over these bits or remove the bulbs but never got round to it. Failing that, it might be possible just to swap the mileage bits over, maybe?

How about £45 delivered? Makes it cheaper than all the others for sale atm

Oh go on then. Can I pay you at the end of the month though? It's been an expensive one already.

What the process of changing it over? Is it a pain to do?

Yeah no worries. I think it's just a few screws but will check with mechanic when in get him to get the final reeding

If it is compatible then the physical job of changing it is a piece of pee. :mask:

I do hope so mark. Lets hope your piece of pee is the same as mine.

It has been running in mph since day 1 but think the converter is on the gearbox speed sensor rather than the speedo so should work same as yours if you're in mph

To save you a few pennies, I can bring it back south with Mark's wheels if the deal is done etc.
