Hey, I'm sorry if this is the wrong place. Does anyone know the Amperage for the cigarette lighter. I know it's 12v but would like to know the amperage as I'm looking to step it down to 3.3v and about 1 amp.

Thanks.

It's combined with the headlight washer (which might not apply to your car). The fuse for the combined system is 15A.

The cig lighter wiring behind the panel isn't that thick, I'd estimate its capable of around 7.5 amps constant draw (100~ watts) and 10 amps for short periods (130~ watts).

People have run thicker gauge cabling from the battery to the socket and used the old power feed to switch a relay, the socket itself (with this mod) should be good up to about 20 amps (250~ watts). Beyond that you'll need to fit a heavy duty one into the armrest cubby hole or something.

Ps. 3.3 volts at 1 amp is 3.3 watts, well within the limits :)
