Drove the car yesterday noticed the clutch pedal was sticking at the halfway point did it a few times until i got home.
driving to work today the pedal went really soft, eventually lost all control of the clutch couldnt engage any gears. Had a look at the fluid resevoir it was empty . Then checked the slave it was covered in fluid. Has anyone experienced this because my slave is relativley new put on with my last clutch change 5k ago. Advise please guys

Can you tell where the fluid is coming from?

as you look down from above there is a square shaped plate with 4 mounting bolts to the rear of the slave its covered in fluid, there doesnt seem to be any fluid on the actual rod end and rubber sleave though.

That's the damper unit for the clutch fluid. There is a connection in and out of that plus into the slave cylinder and also the bleed nipple on the slave cylinder. Can you get someone to lift and push the pedal whilst you watch for the leak?

im getting a mechanic to come to my workplace to replace the slave on friday , is the damper unit a separate part of the slave cylinder itself? if the damper unit is leaking how do i fix this.

As far as I understand the damper unit helps prevent clutch judder by restricting the amount of fluid flowing when you are pressing the clutch pedal. It is separate from the slave cylinder. Apparently you can remove it completely but you will need a pipe making to replace it.
