View Full Version : EOI GB; Super VR4 Replica Bumper Canards

We all know that these things are practically impossible to come by but after a little bit of banter between myself and another member who frequents these parts, I am opening a 'Group Buy' to guage interest for sets of Super VR4 Replica Bumper Canards.

There were a couple of members left dissappointed by the über quick sale of the set that was for sale recently, so I have tried to organise the availability of a few more.

At the moment, we have settled for a minimum of 5 sets of these to be up for grabs but if there is sufficient interest from members here, I'm sure that a few more could be sorted.

Each set will be exactly the same as these:

6568765688

Of course, being replicas they will need to be retro fitted but they won't take too much mucking about to get bolted on.

They will arrive in the white protective coat that can be seen in the pics so will need to be prep'd and painted once you have them.

If any members are genuinly interested in purchasing a set of these canards, please post in this thread and I will get a list going.

Once there are 5 definates on board, the order will be placed. They will be posted to me here in the UK in bulk and then sent via post ( or you're welcome to collect in person ) to each member.

The price of these will be £85 per set delivered to a UK address, but I will be happy to post international (should anyone require) although this will incur an extra bit for postage costs.

These can also be posted to NZ for £120 inc. postage.

I hope this pleases those of you who missed out on the last set.

Much thanks to Jan4iks for helping organise this.

:)

Remember guys, these are for PFL bumpers only!

At the moment, I'll be looking to take payments and put in the order at the beginning of January.
It all depends on how many sets are required.

The front bumper on a FL is totally different to PFL. They won't fit without some serious work.

You could fit a PFL bumper if you really wanted these.

No offence Kev but I will pay the extra £10 for reliability. Ive dealt with Alex plenty before and cant fault his work or level of service. Tried to deal with Peter several times in the past but he has a tendency to drop of the face of the earth for months on end with no contact etc. Dont know his personal status so this may have something to do with it but for the reason stated above I will be staying with this particular group buy and nobody will be able to poach me away on Peters behalf.

Nowt personal just saying.

Hi peeps, sorry for the short absence.

Ok, looks like we have a full house so I will be PMing all those on the list.

I am going to be busy for the next 48hrs (what with xmas and all) but as soon as I return, we shall seek to obtain monies for all involved and the order will go ahead.

Z-Kev, I totally understand where you are coming from and obviously you must go with whichever suits your time frame and budget. Due to costs and agreed prices I cannot drop the price from the current level.

Obviously, if there are any of you who wish to pull out at this time please say so.

Cheers Chaps :)

I havn't forgotten about you guys.

Would you like to see what arrived on my doorstep this afternoon?

66133

Badger_01, let me know when yours arrive just so I know you got it ok.

I am busy this weekend but I will try to slot in some packaging so I can get these posted out to you all at the beginning of next week.

You'll all need to PM me your addresses. I don't mind posting to work or friends addresses to insure they are delivered somewhere where they be collected easily.

Just to inform you, they are grey (not white as stated) but they will need to be painted anyway.

Question, do you need to cut a hole in the bumper to allow airflow at the back after the scoop
Jim

Not that I'm aware of Jim. The hole in the Canard should slot into the existing hole in the bottom of the bumper.

I might have mis-understood the question though

Z-Kev
22-01-2014, 08:41 PM
hes talking about the side scoop, I personally would put a vent at the rear arch in some form, stops a pressure build up, you could cut a slot in your bumper then route that air to the wheel arch

Z-Kev
22-01-2014, 08:44 PM
I am probably going to be cutting the lower bumper hole off at the curve so I can blend this into the bumper smoothly

Just a update, first sand down complete, highlighted a few voids and a air pocket, nothing unexpected as per most fibreglass panels from homemade source, had some cut marks in one corner though minor 2 mm overcut but does need filling, one layer of filler should leave them in good enough condition for finishing work, would question the mould though as fit is slightly marginal on the front vent hole and angle of fit tied into this, as I am getting rid of this front hole section its not too much bother but you might want to be aware of it if you are not ready for the joys of aftermarket fibreglass parts,I am also going to be foam filling the inside to make it a bit more substantial and give a good base for bonding to the bumper, before anyone gets antsy I worked in a GRP bay on aircraft parts for 2 years so do know what im doing with fibreglass lay up , shaping and working.

Badger_01
24-01-2014, 01:52 AM
I found the same as Kev, but Im not worried.

Didnt even sand them down when i painted mine haha. And with the front vent hole I'll just attack the bumper so the fit better haha

Erni902
30-01-2014, 04:21 PM
I have dropped both the canards and the bumper off with my mate last week. I do know he is busy at the moment and I told him there is absolutely no rush so he will update me as and when. Has any of you other guys fitted/painted yours yet? If so I would love to see what the finished product looks like.

They look great Jim especially in white :)

I did see that but looking at other cars with them on this seems to be the case so not worried about that. There is quite a nice surface to bond to along the front anyway so happy with that.

Cheers for the pictures
