Hey,

Signed up before I even brought the car lol but tomorrow im going to buy a 1997 vr4 legnum 140,000kms . well if all goes well, viewed it today and took for a drive and went great although i did notice the ayc light on, have posted in the general comments if anyone wants to go help me out before i buy the car would be better incase im buying a money sink which i cannot afford.

Never owned a mitsubishi before my first car was a 300zx for 6 years and recently I have a 1975 Jaguar which iv had for a few years so this legnum will be my third, hope it treats me well and is reliable.

Any info on these cars good or bad id love to hear it to avoid problems or make it go better or anything :) plan to keep it for a long time providing it all goes well

/Welcome

They can be money pits, but equally if you leave them standard and service them well then they are usually predictable and reliable.

Hope you have fun!

I'm in Nelson. Was planning on leaving it standard as the reason i brought a station wagon is my partner is having our first baby in a couple months and needed a wagon suitable. my jaguar doesnt have rear seat belts so wasn't suitable and this come up for sale and i had just enough money to buy it and keep my jaguar (: going to pick it up in an hour then going to go around it and find every little leak or problem so i can fix any problems before they turn bad, it just got a new wof this morning though so thats a good sign

Will do, its a tad rough around the edges but i needed it as a daily driver so not to worried about that, the ayc red light is deffiantly on, there was bare minium fluid in the tank in the boot i topped that up but dont think that will fix it so will need to figure out how to check the pressure switch thingy. I paid $3700 for it, is that over priced or not? it got a wof this morning with no problems or notes apart from 1 tyre at 2mm and its done 140,000kms looks like it has good service history as well in the receipts book
