Now would be a good time to set it too - cold air = time most likely to hit fuel cut.

awesome. Wish my better half would consider to spend that sort of money for this kind of gifts. :D

Do u guys not have a tuner that can modify the original ecu? It's cheaper for us in aus to buy a 3 port and dyno/ road tune our cars. And get better results with fuel economy and response. Win win

Looks like a very nice unit.

Look forward to hear how well it works.

you are actually the second person to mention getting a tuner or tuned ECU.. i never thought of it until after i received this controller.

i KNOW there isn't anyone over here that even knows a single thing about the 6a13 but i was offered a tuned ecu for $400 from "quinton miller" off facebook vr4 parts page.

i always thought that getting a tuned ecu.. you had to take into account the different temperatures and area ill be in and any ecu i got wouldnt even be tuned for the area..

im not sure about this stuff and tried reading some of the threads on the subject but cant make much sense of it.

this Legnum is really my true first turbo car and the newest car ive ever owned so theres a lot of new stuff i'm learning along the way.
(im used to 4 cyl FWD Mitsus with the 4g61,4g63,4g64) i owned a stealth/3000gt (6g72TT) for a year but didnt even get to drive it .. it was too far gone. all these cars were 1991/92, so i couldnt even plug anything into the ecu.

SO do i!
im just impatiently waiting for my friend to finish the cambelt change.. (its been since saturday morning, sat afternoon he was asking if i had a special tool to get the cam pully off.. then 2 hours later he got it off ) and now im at work all day and he probably is too.. Sighhhh

(it feels like i have a child in the hospital and i cant see him because hes quarantined.)

Might be useful to give your friend a copy of the guide http://www.clubvr4.com/forum/showthread.php?28501-VR-4-cambelt-change

Tuning is an art in itself and tuning a stock ecu on a vr4 is not user friendly either. The boost controller will give you some smiles in the short term at least, if you want to tune the ecu later then spend some time finding someone who understands mitsubishi ecu flashing and understands tuning. Or spend some time learning about it and do it yourself!

If you want to annoy him:
The rocker covers don't need to come off to do the cambelt.
The plenum doesn't need to either (but I assume that is so he can remove the rocker covers).
The rocker cover is much easier to replace whilst the cam cover is off (it looks like he has replaced the cam cover at the front already).
If the plenum is off that far he has undone approx 16 bolts and removed some vacuum pipework. With another 4 bolts he could remove it from the throttle body and have it completely out of the way.

On the plus side, the cams & rockers look relatively clean, so you have an engine that appears to have been looked after there! :D

i know thats why i posted pictures...
i was like uhhhhhhhh ok how much more do you have to do? once i seen the front cover off... Sighhhhhhh

Hes finally done my cambelt change.... 20 freaking hours WOW...... good thing it was 35$ ( yup thats only £19) an hour instead of $150 that the garages here would have wanted.

Soooo we got the boost controller in and it doesn't want to let us control it.
Just lets itself spike to 16....

I've not had any experience with your boost controller but normally there are a couple of settings. Has yours got that? If so one will be the boost level and one will be how aggressively the boost comes on. If the boost comes on too aggressively then you get a big spike and hit fuel cut.

Everything is all good now!
two of the hoses were switched.

running 12Lbs now :D

That should be quite safe. Most run around 0.9-1.0 bar (13-15psi) but then fuel cut becomes an issue. Hope you are enjoying it! :D

I bet ur loving the new found thrust a couple of pound does. I can remember when I put my boost t in I was loving it and really got the bug for more. These things come stock with about 135kwatw. I'm now pushin 200kwatw and I still want more. Insert evil chuckle here!
