Just a few questions on the front inner driveshaft boots, has anyone got any feedback on the camskill cheaper ones as theres a lot of negativity on them not fitting correctly, also Peter Thompson lists a blueprint number that he got sent , do we know this is a deffinite fit as that part number shows for a toyota startlet

I am thinking of giving this a try as the driveshaft for the 2.5 v6 galant and the legnums are the same part number on Mitsis ASA so this blueprint part should be good for us

Hmm, well this fits the 2.5 v6 ea5w model variant which uses the same driveshafts as the legnum according to ASA

The driveshaft is certainly not the same from an EA5W and EC5W. The inner CV joint is different, and I think different between different years of EA5W. The outer might be the same, but the inner definitely has differences. It's been a few years since I had a FWD V6 apart, but the inner CV cup was not scalloped and the splines for the gearbox end of the shaft were male on the drive shaft and female in the gearbox.

For stock OE items the inner joint rubbers are physically the same size, but they have different flexibilities, that is why you will find you have a black one and a grey one.

Sorry - this post is supposed to be helpful, but I suspect it might leave you feeling frustrated!

The grey one is for the driver's side as it's close to the exhaust IIRC. Using a black one on this side will cause it to degrade faster.
