The EM2005 rom is for an 7202 ecu auto with traction control

I have a 7203 ECU in my car that went straight in.

A 7202 or 7203 is easier to map than a 7201.

My autobox is still a prefacelift box with matching prefacelift gearbox ECU. I have no TCL issues with the 7203 ECU in place.

Did you have to reflash the ecu with a rom at all to match the tc and auto box and what model was 7203 out off ie was it a manual car

It might have been fiddled with, but it was in a facelift car prior to mine. Apart from put it in, I've not had anything done to it - it's there for ease of tuning at some point.

Yeah that's my thinking hope it works pity Jason isn't around he might see it it's strange that are cars if auto have a ecu for gear box and engine

All auto vr4s have a separate gearbox ecu. I haven't said that facelift ecus don't work with tcl cars. What I said was I have seen a case of one plastic case ecu not working but a second one did. They both ran the car fine but the first one had issues with the tcl system.

Cheers nick was just trying to clear stuff up thats all about it as everyone says it should work and 7202 ecu is more manageable to remap

if you search on here for threads and post by foxdie with a search sting of something like 'stack roms' or 'original roms' you should find the all the roms that jason uploaded to this site. He was kind enough to put all the stock roms on this site so anyone can down load them. and use them.

just having a 7202 ecu is only half the story, you must ensure you have the openport2.0 cable with the option flashing add on cable.
but you will need that when flashing any ecu be it 7201 7202 or 7203.

you have to do your reseach before jumping with flashing an ecu.

i suggest you have read through and watch the videos in this thread that i put together to help anyone that wants to help themselves.

understand this lot and you can probably say you are half way to understanding what you are doing.

Also worth noting, any rom can have TCL enabled/disabled. It's one of the periphery bits.
