hi guys,so i installed blitz dual spec electronic boost controller in my vr4,it works great, currently the gain is set on 5 but the boost is alittle laggy,if i increase the gain to 10 or 15,the boost comes in great,no laggy feeling,it's just evoscan starts detecting knock between 2-5,can anyone tell me why it's happening, can i do anything to keep the gain up with no knock?????

Is the knock at the start of the run? Middle of the gear? Same revs every time? Only on the gear change?

nick is right to ask these questions, you have to be very clear what knock you are detecting and when it is occuring. you can waste a lot of time trying to tune out false knock.

it starts from about 3500RPM at approx 140 LOAD...,sometimes when changing gears and pressing.....running AFR's in 10's range,is that to rich, can u lose power running so rich???

If the knock is happening at different times then you will need to do something to help the whole situation or spend more time narrowing down when it happens. Higher octane fuel and lower inlet temperatures are good blanket improvements.

Check ur engine mounts aswell. Our cars really need the higher octane fuels. I run 98-100 oct.

i am running 95 oct plus (small jet) water/meth.....,thats the highest oct fuel i can get in trinidad, other than that race gas,but that's to expensive to run daily....lol,i will try running the big jet...

Trotty, what kind of ignition timing u running at WOT with 100 oct fuel?

It's not tuned for 100oct it's just a 10% ethanol blended fuel. I never did the tuning on my car for 98. I may be able to get ignition maps if I rub my tuner the right way.

I keep reading this type of post to educate myself but to be honest... I have no efin idea what you talkin about. I want to make mine quicker and to that end I have had the 3" stainless downpipes added, Iridium plugs and just ordered a K&N air filter. That's as far as my ability extends (unless it's wrapped in Leather).
