With all the issues on the car, I am going to try and cut my losses and get rid :(
Having only just spent money getting LPG fitted, its not what I want to do, but the combination of issues and general unreliability of this car has severely soured my enthusiasm for it and I really dont want to spend the best part of £1000 to get the car mechanically sound only for something else to go wrong a few weeks later.

So this is a tentative EOI thread, for parts which I am capable of taking off myself with minimal effort.
I cant afford to be out of a vehicle for too long so I am hoping to get confirmed buyers lined up for as many items as possible before I actually go ahead and start taking parts off. The sooner the better.

I believe a lot of what I have are sought after and worth the price listed, but if you want to make an offer, go ahead, but dont be offended if I dont take it serious.
I need to be sure of at least £1500 + worth of sales before it becomes worth me stripping it and being without a car for a week or two while I do it.

The money has to come in around the same time in order to finance any replacement car. Not sure when yet, but the sooner I can get buyers lined up the better.
No pics as yet, but I will try to get some uploaded over the coming few days. If I havent listed anything, ask away and I'll see what I might have or can sort out. And by the way, I'm keeping the LPG system as it will go onto any replacement car I get.

Prices are collected from WS10 postcode (10 miles north of Birmingham at M6 J9). Shipping will be extra at cost and I am willing to provide international shipping again at cost to the buyer.
So here goes:

GAB Coilovers, with adjustable ride height and spring rates (with C spanners) £400
Downpipes brand new last week, 2.25" from the turbos, to 3" joining to the catback, so no space for cat or decat £250
Fujitsubo Super Legalis R 3" catback exhaust £400
Fibreglass vented bonnet, primed and ready for paint £200
Full black leather interior (heated and electric circuits included) with door cards £300
7202 ECU £80 @darren1976, instant, vr4drifta
Momo steering wheel £80
Full set of genuine Mitsubishi wind deflectors for estate £80 @WillVR4
Full set of chrome 'Legnum' door sills and rear bumper strip £125
Evo 8 alloys (no tyres as I'll be retaining them) £100 @xp67
Carbon effect dash set (vents, console, ashtray and gear surround) £80
L30NUM private registration includes cost of transfer and front/rear plates £300 @Ernie902
Greddy FMIC with red silicone fittings £125 @hypocrit3, SLX
GFB Stealth FX hybrid dump valve (adjustable from fully vented to fully recirc or any setting in between) £200
Golpher alloy radiator from Stefan's group buy a few months ago, only fitted two weeks ago comes with blue silicone pipes! £140 @hypocrit3, SLX
Cusco rear strut brace £100
Front strut brace £60
New front bearing £60
Magnecore 8.5mm ingition leads £60 @hypocrit3, SLX
UKDM glass headlights with clear indicators full set £70
Razo manual pedal covers £10
Stock downpipes £offers
Stock cat converter £offers
3" unknown make catback exhaust with extended middle section so so space for cat or decat £160 @exevoowner
Luggage cover for estate £offers
Luggage net x 2 £offers
Airbox @thegoose

And these parts which I cant take off myself, or without specialist help so may be more tricky to arrange sale
Engine (leaking on cam side, and have replacement seals) with all ancillaries £400? or without for less £offers
Manual conversion kit (lever is sticky and doesnt spring to neutral) with Exedy Evo clutch and a spare gear lever mechanism £600?
Transfer box £offers
Rear diff £offers

I also have a load of extra parts which I have accumulated over the years which will be up for sale and will take offers
PFL side skirts in Thurston Grey
'Supered' head lights with inserts sprayed silver
PFL grille in Palma Red
Rear bumper skirt (I believe its a Super one but cannot confirm)
PFL roof rails

And once the car is broken down, the usual array of stock parts and panels where offers will be taken.

Shocked now, Atik I hope that my post in RR day thread about condition of your P&J not insult you as it was a bit of a joke, I feel guilty now. Yes your car have few issues but IMO most of them are fairly easy/cheap to sort out. And all that effort/money just spend to gas it up just not make any sense to me, what sort of replacement you after?

I live close to you. I'd take the wheels for sure and I 've got a list of small parts that I'm still after (trim bits, switches, etc). I'll keep an eye out if you decide to break it (looks like it would be a shame!)

I know you were joking Adam. Thats not an issue at all.

The car has just not been 'right' since day one. I dont care about the faded paint and body work, but mechanically its been one issue after another for two years. The most trouble free driving I got from it was when it was SORN'd and I was driving a Mondeo!

As I say, if I can secure around £1500 worth of sold parts over the next few weeks (maybe by end of April), I'll probably break it in May. If I cant, I'll re-evaluate and see about getting it repaired.

And Steve, I've been trawling the net today for possible replacements, and I think I'll go for the ugly overweight sister to that one. It has a goofy front, big ugly rear end, but has the same engine! /yes

Yes I'm shocked too bud but tbh I've also ploughed far too much into mine but I'm hoping after sorting the exhaust and airbox it should it I will be looking for a stock airbox as mine is damaged unles I can repair it and depending on how much u require for yours?

25-03-2014, 02:56 PM
Noooooooo Atik... don't do that!! :( What needs to be done?

Atik
25-03-2014, 03:37 PM
Engine oil leaking - suspected to be cause of smoke. But also possibly dodgy turbos causing smoke on over-run.
Noisy bearing - replacement in hand awaiting fitment
Intermittent suspension knocking - suspected lower curved arm
Juddering brakes - suspected seized caliper
Body panels need tidying
Paintwork faded beyond repair
Problematic ignition barrel

Worth more in parts to me right now as I dont have the patience to get it all sorted.
The car runs well when it does, but the list keeps growing faster than I can fix them!

If anyone wants to make an offer, let me know. I'll entertain anything right now.

Atik
26-03-2014, 01:50 PM
Grigory, I'll try and get some pics of the wheels soon.

Paul, car is Palma Red with Thurston Grey lower sections.

Craig, the ECU is a 7202 which is currently flashed with a manual ROM. If you fit to an auto car I believe it will require re-flashing. But it will be available as per the list in post one above.

Any further info on the coilovers Atik? Tried a google search but can't seem to find any info on them. It seems a shame to break the car considering all the time and effort you have put into it but if you feel its time then I suppose that's the way it is.

Atik
26-03-2014, 07:35 PM
No real info on them Gib. They were on the car when I bought it and came without C spanners. I have since bought a set of spanners to be able to adjust them. They look in good order, dirty but working fine with no leaks. I'm going to try to get a load of pics uploaded on the weekend so will try and get some detailed pics of them for you.

Will, the deflectors on the driver side are off the car, but I cant remember where the clips are. I have a box of bits from when I broke my old car so I suspect they may be in there. The passenger side deflectors are still on the car so can be take off with the clips. Will keep you posted about the missing clips.

Will add you to the list of interested parties.

I was planning on using a high tack good quality double sided foam tape to apply it back on. All along the frame to create a clean seal without any missing sections. That way it seals right and leaves to space for any dirt to get trapped.

1st post updated with those who have shown interest in certain bits and in the order they have shown them in.

I am happy to entertain offers on other parts if people are interested. It's looking increasingly likely I will be in a replacement car by next week, so the sooner I can get parts lined up, the sooner I can get rid of them.

Any pics of the coilovers? By adjustable spring rates do you mean damper settings? I get confused far too easily when it comes to coilovers.

Atik
01-04-2014, 11:19 AM
Will confirm later for you Gib. The shocks have two collars which I believe allows ride height adjustment and adjustment of how tight the springs are. There is nothing at the top of the struts in the engine bay so no EDFC compatibility or anything.

Atik

No longer an EIO thread. Could a mod please change to FS?

My gearbox shat itself last night, so I think 2nd gear is now dead. I just completed a 250 mile round trip and as I turned into my parent's road, 2nd gear crunched, felt like it slipped out of position as the teeth were grinding on something!

A replacement vehicle is now imminent so as of next week, I should be able to start taking small bits off the car ready for sale. Obviously the larger harder to reach items may take a while so please bear this in mind when requesting parts. I am happy for people to come collect or even come and take bits off the car themselves. Plan is to get all the goodies off the car, keep a handful of stock but wanted items, and then the shell will be sent to the scrappies.

Any chance you'd be selling the turbo's and manifolds? (looking to bolt them to my FTO :d ). If so, how much?

Nate

Atik
03-04-2014, 01:41 PM
Not sure they would be worth much to be honest. The car is smoking badly on over-run which could be an indication of faulty turbos. I wouldnt want to sell on that basis, but if you still want them, make me an offer. But it also wont be for a few weeks at least until I actually start to strip it.

Atik, you may laugh now - I am interested in the bare engine, without ancillaries if you want to split and have interest from other peopler for alternator / A/C comp / power steering punmp / turbos + manifolds.

What is your estimation, how quick you will start to strip down the car? A friend of mine has shot his engine so is looking for another engine.

Any other issues with the engine, except suspected seal failure on cambelt side? What is the actual mileage?

xp67
11-04-2014, 01:32 PM
Atik, are you now breaking this for sure? If so, can I come over and have a look at the wheels? I live locally and am in no rush to buy them if you need to keep them on the car for now. Send me a PM. Cheers! :)

Atik
11-04-2014, 02:02 PM
Stefan, not sure when the engine will be ready to take out. I dont have any real access or space to take it out where I am. Nor do I have the crane to be able to remove it safely. I have a gravel driveway so cant get a wheeled crane on there safely.
There was leaking on the cam side and also a little on the air box side. It runs quiet, and managed to produce 271hp at Eurospec at the meet last month so it could be worth something if you get the seals etc changed.

Tom, I think this will definitely be going for breaking in the next few weeks. I'm just holding off until the Stagea is fully operational. You are welcome to pop round for a look and chat. The wheels are fitted with Goodyear Assymmetric tyres (Nov 13) and have only done around 1500 miles. I was planning on keeping the tyres for use on the next car, but they are 16" stock wheels so wont fit. If you wanted them with the tyres, I am sure we can work out a deal that suits. I actually have three other tyres with almost full tread off the car which I can also include in the deal.

For the rest of the parts, I am all open to offers now. Take your pick at this. Just want to recoup the cash for the Stagea and then I'm going to send the lot off the scrappies.

Update:

Car is now partially stripped:
FMIC, rad, leads, front bumper, grille, headlights, air box, top pipework are all now off the car.

I will not have any time, nor do I have the expertise to properly strip the car. I've been offered a price for the rolling shell by a local garage, so if anyone wants to make an offer, I'll be looking at them very closely.
Rolling shell is complete with the following goodies: electric/heated black leather interior, GAB coilovers, Enkei E8 wheels (with 3 budget tyres with full tread and spare), all body panels, engine, manual gearbox and everything for a manual swap.

It still has the LPG kit fitted, which I am planning to get removed soon, but if anyone is interested in it, I will consider offers, seeing as the kit is already specifically cut/built for a Legnum.

I will be PMing people who have expressed interest in anything shortly.

Atik

Big update:

The rolling shell is now provisionally sold. This includes the wheels, engine, gearbox and suspension, as well as the shell!
The buyer has expressed that anything else is not required, so if anyone wants anything from the car however big or small, let me know, and we can work something out.

Offers considered on almost all parts now.

Best regards

I have the calipers, but I wouldnt want to sell as they are in need of a refurb. When the car was on the road I had some severe brake judder, which I suspect was due to the sliding pins not 'sliding' causing the brakes to stick.
I will probably not have enough time to sort this either as I am away part of this weekend, and the shell is being collected next week.

You might be able to ask the buyer of the shell if they will be able to arrange this.

Hmm, collection could be a problem, how do they fix on? Are they retrofitable? Or do they need holes to already be there?

Edit: ok I see how they fit now. If you are interested in posting them I think parcelforce 48 large will take them for about £15. Otherwise no worries, I don't really need them, just a useful add-on for the future :)
