Rear Differential

My rear diff has a hole in the case and it seems as though the the diff it self is dun, does any body know the no. for the diff or if the diff out of an evo, 3000gt would work ? Help please, or does any one know where i can get on online?

Ouch :sad3: That is not a cheap item to replace. The one from the Evo does not fit but I am not sure about a 3000GT. I managed to get one for mine from a breakers yard. A new one is about £2500 IIRC :sad2: .

Try searching for Mitsubishi breakers. I am sure you will find one.

I have one for sale in the UK but i dont know what £800 converts to in Barbados....... "bloody expensive" i guess :sad3: , then theres the shipping :rolleyes4 ................there must be one closer to you..........will keep fingers crossed

I have taken down the diff, it is the 16 tooth pinion gear that transffers drive from the drive shaft to the diff of it self. When i took apart the diff it is the pinion gear which has 16teeth now has 10 teeth. and there is a big hole in the diff case from that . There is no actual damage to the diff gears . is the back diff LSD?

no it is not LSD, My diff has just been replaced, the only real option is second hand, as $10,800 NZD + GST and fitting for a brand new one is rather silly. Try a wrecking yard, or sorce the HKS LSD kit for it (still big $$$) Which still leaves you needing a casing :(

Could you not take the shredded gear to a local fabricators and see if they can produce you a new one from a blank billet?
