Hi.

Since i cant figure out why my Hi-vis VR4 clauster wont light up, im gona tear all wiring from the instrument and put the pins in right place.
So im in need for a diagram that shows me what kinda wires goes into contact D-01, D-02 and D-03 in the instrument. :anxious:

I got the Workshop manual ( electrical wiring ) Galant 97 VR4.
But i cant find the specific diagram for the instrument out of that manual :huh2:

Any one that could help me abit With the readable wiring diagram for an Manual VR4?

i think you will find the wiring manual stored on the this site is the UK spec wiring manual not for the VR4. which is why you will not see the connections for the Hi Vis VR4 dash

Instead of searching for diagrams, search for explanation of how to make it work... There's quite a lot forum threads about this issue with pictures of the wires that need splicing and evertything else you need to know.

Well 90% of those threads you speak of ends in to nothing. I spoke with one Martin71 and he told me to contact one guy who does soldering jobs on these clusters.

But hasn't got hold of him yet... waiting for him to reply.

Well, allright... Just cut pin 5 in D-03 and splice it to pin 4. Job done.

If the pin 5 doesnt come from the volt regulator it might work. Some one wrote to split wire number 1 into the 4-5 bridge aswell but didnt write if that worked or not..

Going offshore now so i cant do anything untill i get home again. But the good news is i bought a new cluster. So i know that this part is ok. Took a quick peek behind my "old" cluster and the print board had alot of black spots on the soldering lines. I guess not a good sign. So thats why i bought a new one today.
I tryed to get hold of Swinks on this forum but he has not replyed yet. I hope he can do the soldering convertion for me since i suck at soldering.

Pin 1 is ASC/TCL skidding car lamp ground. If you bridge it to pin 4 (ignition 12V), you'll fry your ASC/TCL ECU...

Ohhh.. Dont want to do that..Thanks for the heads-up. Pin 1 you are ref to, is that from an A/N Galant 2.0l 4 cyl loom or the VR4 loom?

The pins 1 and 2 on D-03 are reserved for TCL/ASC lamps (Skidding car and TCL OFF) in instrumental harness on all Galant models. So even if the car don't have TCL, the wires will still be present. But, of course, if the car has no TCL, the wires will not be connected to anything in main harness. Then you can bridge it to anything - nothing will happend :)
