Nice one Darren.
You wont regret it mate. What colour is it?

It's Trigger Mauve. I had a drive in it, compared to my current galant 2.0 gls it's quick, i think it will need to be reset to get the best out of it though.

http://www.a1centre.co.uk/_a1performance.htm here's the link to it, 6 cars down i think

Just had a look at the site. Car looks tidy. Theyre calling it a type S but it looks like a type V to me. The type S usually has a different shaped rear spoiler that sits partially on top of the tail gate. Also, this is a pre-facelift model with 260 ps on tap INSERT INTO post VALUES (as opposed to the 280 of post facelift). Recent posts seem to suggest that remapping or repacing ecu to unleash 280 should be relatively straight forward if you want it though. Good price. Whats the mileage?

69000, which was higher than i hoped for, but mine i 70000 and i still love it so thought i would be safe. it's got ayc and traction control. so that's what i was looking for

:D hey hey Darren, well done mate!

As Lomy said, the car looks nice and tidy and a good price if mileage/service history is good.

He is also correct about the 260ps - there are a few of us currently looking into ECU changes to get the extra 20ps - have a look on the For Sale/Wanted section for more info.

Bonus having traction aswell :D I have that too :D

Whats the service history like ? Has the cambelt been done at 54,000 miles or below ? If not get it done right now before you pick it up as costs a fortune to get done - I paid £520 for cambelt, new plugs and AYC fluid change :INSERT INTO post VALUES (

Hey Spirit,

Am i wrong about the type INSERT INTO post VALUES (i.e. V or S)?

well thanks to this site I went into the deal with my eyes wide open. I told them about it being 260bhp, unless you get the post 1999 280 ecu. Everything i've learnt from reading you lot. the car is very clean, cleaner than my 98 galant, no stonechips in sight, also the invecs II was set to pedestrian settings. So whoever drove it before didn't seem to have an agressive style. I can soon remendy that though :)

Darren

Great mate but what about service history and cambelt etc ?

Lomy

Sorry mate not an expert on the Legnum myself so can't help there regarding the spoiler

Darren

erm, you best tell me what i need to ask regarding the cam belt

Spirit

Well you would be advised to have some evidence that it was done at 54000 miles or before. As per my post above, it costs a fortune to do and is a main dealer job. While it's being done I would advice getting the plugs done aswell as they are a mare to do and it will cost you around £400-£500 for both of these.

I would be wary if they cannot supply any evidence and ask the dealer to do it as part of the price

Hey nice one Darren! I'm SURE you won't regret it.

Type-V is a manual gearbox with no AYC or Traction control.

Some of the members here seem to have half breeds.. Barry has a Type-S but a manual gearbox but he also has AYC which is meant to be exclusive to the Type-S but again, no Traction Control.
I don't know what body changes there are on the Legnum, apart from the obvious 99 onwards change.

Good luck and I'm sure you will have a lot of fun with it. :)

It's the one you were looking at The_boy, what happened is, the guy who bought it was waiting for his finance and it fell through. That one then came back up for sale on friday evening. So you've already been in my car :P the other 2 did not come in for some other reason.

Best I could do for my insurance in the end was £1350.oo with a 500 Excess from Tett Hamilton 01275 793370

Osbourne and sons did a £1395 with 500 excess and when I told Tett Hamiltion they undercut them, said he didn't like losing to them lot heh. Seems performance direct like to piss you about a bit. The said that I'd told them it was a UK spec car, which is crap. So thier £1090 quote turned into a £2250 quote ?!?!?

Ah well getting one anyway, I don't drink much so my beer money is well spent :P

Adrian Flux treat UK models exactly the same as grey imports!

I have a UK car and Spirit has a grey import, there is only about £10 difference. Around about £600 fully comp too.

Yep Brind is right - I am paying £660 with them and have all my mods listed for that price aswell
