Hey Guys,
I'm new to this forum but not new to the galant at all. I have had my 2003 USDM Galant since 2007. It has had some upgrades haha. Its AWD converted and has a fully built evo 8 2.4LR motor ect. Anyways the reason I joined was to ask a couple of questions really. As you may know, most Americans drool over the JDM parts. I too have done my fair share amount of installing jdm parts including the rear bumper, and facelift front bumper and sideskirts. I then got tired of that and modified my skirts to look more like SVR4 skirts from the height prospective. Also have a legnum front bumper. I think it was ment to be a lip on the bottom of the facelift bumper, but then got modded.
What I am after besides drooling over legnums is in fact a part number. I have Mitsubishi ASA to look USDM part numbers, but I found a legnum VIN and I tried using it(i figured it wouldn't work). What program does mistu use in the rest of the market? Basically I'm trying to get my hands on or see if a radiator support (the whole front portion that the headlights, grill, hood latch ect bolt on to) can be fitted to our frame. Reason is the jdm headlights are a little wider and longer, so I ended up having to cut some metal out to make it fit, which is find BUT now I'm curious.
Enjoy some pics! Thanks in advance!

Hi and welcome Jared. A really nice looking example of Galant you have there. It is a strange thing, that we are all looking for the parts, which were not availble in the locations we live. :)

What you are looking for, is the headlamp support structure and this is a thing of welding (no bolt on/bolt off). The headlamp support for the JDM headlamps was used on the EUDM and JDM models. This can be found in the respective versions of ASA. There were several version and the data is market specific. Anyhow, the ASA versions on japancars.ru are very handy.

The part# for the headlamp support is: MR241999

Yeah I know I have to weld it on, I was looking for the facelift version maybe from a 2000 legnum EC5W? I don't know for sure how much the support structure is off compared to the US market. I've been told the frame rails are different because of crash standards and what not. Pictures would do justice but I cant find any on google. So maybe you guys know?
Also can I order the part number MR241999 from any mistu dealer or does it have to be somewhere outside of the US?

Welcome m8 your car is very clean

Thanks man. It has a full wire tuck as well with aerospace electrical disconnect plugs on the firewall.

The headlamp structure is only the upper part of the front end structure, so nothing to do with crash safety regulations etc. This Part is basically the metal bar, where e.g. the upper radiator brackets mount to, as well as the necessary structures to mount the headlights to. There is no difference between FL and PFL models in Europe/Japan (whereas there is a difference for the USDM cars!)

The Part should be available through the dealer, but he will maybe need to order it from Japan. Anyhow, MMNA should be able to help your Local dealer.

so your saying i can get just the part circled in green? I'm ok with that, I need a whole new front rad support, and since my custom intercooler already mounts up to the bottom portion on the us rad support ill just get a new us one and cut the us headlight bracket off and use the jdm headlight bracket. This seems to easy lol

Hi and welcome to the club,
there are 3 versions of ASA i have which are the JAP region the USA reagion and the EURO version, if you want a copy of it so you don't have to rely on the Russian version.
let me know and i can pop a DVD in the post you can have multiple version of ASA on your PC the database does not mind about that, as i current have JAP and Euro version installed.

i can confirm the part number is MR241999

love that video :) Did you use the front structure to get the JDM front end installed? Was it hard to get the parts?

I love seeing all the galants over in the USA and other countries, especially considering the effort you guys go to in order to make them look JDM. Your galant looks awesome, love the wheels wish I found some of those here at a good price. That engine bay is sexy and looks so tidy.

Thanks man! Something I through together in one after noon lol, short sweet and teases. No, I haven't done that yet. That will be IF I decide to repaint it, then Ill just redo the entire front rad support. As far as JDM things, everything bolts up the ONLY thing we have to do is cut the rad support where the headlights sit at the rad support since jdm heads are physically longer than usdms

Thanks man. Its hard to get jdm items now as our source is hard to get a hold of. I am a little irritated that the bay didn't come out cleaner but with a goal of 800+hp there are things that you need lol
