The knob on top of my gear lever that you have to depress to get into reverse or park has sprung out and is now precariously balanced on top of its spring. I can't see how it clips in place, there are no obvious lugs or anything. Anyone got a spare one or will I have to find a complete new gear lever.

Thought you just gave it a firm push down and it should go back into place.

Think there a retaining clip or lip as they are incerted from inside

What Stu said. From memory there are two small tabs, one on each side of the button.

On the button you press there should be 2 lugs facing outwards on the left and right side i think. Have a look down the side of the spring to see if there are any plastic tab remains, or failing that, if it came off at speed check under seats etc for debris, either way new button needed.

as long as it is in the correct orientation the plastic knob on top should just push down on top of the spring and it should lock into place, you should need a screw driver or equivalent to pop the knob off.
if the knob will not click back into place when you push down on it, then it suggests something has broken off.
