Can anyone advise on a exhaust upgrade?
I've looked at the HKS Super Dragger and the blitz TT

Robert

I have recieved a Fujitsubo Legalis R exhaust straight from Japan via Hyeline in Cardiff.

Its fully stainless steel and looks great, its being fitted on Thursday, so I'll re-post here when I get it out on the open road.

Its made special for the Legnum and hopefully will be a direct replacement.

Price wasn't to bad, but I needed a replacement anyway.

Be interested to know how easy that fits, and some pics when it's on Roberto.

Had the exhaust fitted today (Thursday) by Mitsubishi.

Went on a dream, no problems at all and no problem either removing the old system, which was the bigger concern for them, time wise.

The system is from the CAT back, ie. 2 middle boxes and a BIG rear box with
a round 4inch pipe, plus metal gaskets and bolts.

Sounds great, :2thumbsup now all I need is a good induction kit and a dump valve
for now anyway, well maybe some Iridium spark plugs for good measure.
/yes

Pre picture taken, but badly need to wash the car before taking post
picture, soon though.

Price for fitting FREE, because problem at last service(Turbo air hose not
tightened fully, but fixed it myself) and I did not make a big deal about it.

IT PAYS TO BE NICE.

I've purchased one of these, now, from Hyeline. The Fujitsubo Web site has the sound this makes on a VR4 compared to the standard exhaut.

Was it the Legalis Type R Evolution you got? Sounds pretty good on the site - not too over the top.
Any pics yet :D

Yes, but not delivered yet.

I don't know if Roberto has any pics yet.

Also http://www.tuningjapanese.co.uk/main/main.shtml can provide a ECU mapping service for the V6 VR4. £900 though. Should provide good increases in BHP and response.

I have also fitted an in line fuel CAT. This is great for Jap inmports as it changes standed unleaded 95 to super 99!! Only £60 :rolleyes4 Science at its best!! :2thumbsup

Any details on this thing? I'd like to read up on it... sounds too good to be true. One of the reasons fuel became more expensive is because companies couldn't boost octane ratings artificially with tetraethyl lead... I'm not sure how a 60 quid device could achieve the same effect.

I'm still a bit skeptical after reading up on it. The claim is that the tin-based catalyst promotes crosslinking of the carbon polymers, as a result increasing the stability of the fuel under compression. Lots of other claims too. Thing is, I can't find any scientifically sound tests - everything is from the blokes selling them.

Never take advice from someone with a vested interest!

I did find a reference on scoobynet that claims that the P1's had these as standard though. Don't remember anything on my P1, but then I never really had a good look... and I think it might have been the 'in-tank' type.

Incidently, Robbo, the 70 quid devices seem to be for cars up to 3500cc or tuned/turbo to 1600... you may need a bigger fuel cat. If scoobynet is to be believed, the P1 had two of the big drop in cats.

So on what basis does the ex-dealer no longer recommend them? What claim (or claims) does it not live up to?

He simply stated that he wouldn't fit one to his car!!

The chap who makes them simply took a picture of this mechanic and claimed he was fitting them. :rolleyes4
