Hi guys

This maybe premeture.

I may have a new job that comes with a company car. Now I may have to sell the VR4.

There are some pictures of the car in the members picture section. These were 18 months ago tho. I will take some more and post them.

Being honest...
There is a small pimple dint on the drivers side rear door which some kind person hit when opening their door in a carpark. The paint is not scratched so this could be fixed by a rentadent company. I will take a photo of this for you to see.

Here is the spec.

'V' Reg Galant VR4 Saloon (Ralliart)
Dark Blue in colour.
Registered 1999
Recaro interia with the black and red leather steering wheel
Full service history from Mits ralliart dealers apart from 1 where I bought the car from.
Will have 6 months tax at the end of this month.
64,000 miles on the clock.
MOT'd until 20th August 2005.
Just had a 18,000 mile service.

Modifications
BDA decat pipe
HKS SQV Blow off valve
Simota cone air filter
National racing 8 groove disks with Ferodo DS2500 pads on the front
Painted red calipers

Looking for £8,000 (I think this is a resonable price).

Just pm me if anyones interested.

Calling Kieran, Kieran to the for sale section.

:) Thanks Issac.

Unfortunately, that's a little more than I want to spend (but it's a good price I hasten to add!), but the main issue is that it's a saloon, whereas we've decided on a Legnum. I know, I've been critical of them in the past, but BDA probably heard the swear words from his local IKEA when I went there last weekend!!! :thumbsdow  You try getting a bloody flat pack bookcase in a saloon!!! /wall :smash: :stars: :furious3:

OK looks as though it is going for sale.

Am taking it for a professional vallet on Friday and have put it in the trader.
Obviously anyone from the club who is interested will get first option.

Thanks

Mick

Lo

Just had an enquiry from someone off autotrader called George T Smith. Wants to know the condition of the motor and can send a shipping agent to pick up the vehicle immediately I decide to sell.

Hmm

What do we think?

Email as follows:

Hi,
My name is George, i am so happy to finally see this car i have been looking
for, i will like you to tell me the condition of the car. Dont worry i am
based in the UK, i have a shipping agent that would pick up the car from
your house immediately you agree to sell it to me.
Meanwhile, i look forward to hearing from you,
George T. Smith.

Thanks all

Mick

Do they pick it up before or after they give you the money :inquisiti

Sounds well dodgy to me.

Sounds dodgy to me too.

I'm not saying don't do it, but make sure your eyes are WIDE open. I'd want money cleared in the bank guaranteed safe before releasing the car.

Hmm I replyed to this guy and here was his response...

Hello Mick,
I will like to say a big thank you for your reply, am satisfied with the
condition of the car think it would be a great buy.Its perfectly okay in
England. I travel a lot in my line of buisness hence the reason why i
choose
not to acquire a horse since i sold the last one i had. I am ok with the
horse's
picture and it will be good to let you know that i will be paying you with
a bank draft or company's cheque that was intended for me through services
rendered (£13,000). The only problem is that sum owed me by the investment
company is more than the price of your horse. I would greatly appreciate
if
you could deduct sum of yourcar(£6,000) from the amount and have the rest
of (£5,000) sent to my shipping agent ( through western union money
transfer). I have had a bad experience in the past doing things without my
shipping agent.
They will come for the pickup of the horse in your location. I will
wait till draft or cheque clears before i instruct my shipping agent to take
up ownership of horse on my behalf. I really am very sorry that it has to
be
this way but i do not want to miss out on this great buy.
Please send me the following information below so i could have the company
make out the draft in your name and send it to you
immediately.Thanks.
full name...............
full address.................
mobile phone number..................
Waiting to read from you soonest
George.

sounds like one of these african ebay scammers, he'll probaly offer you £15K from his "agent" and you send him the car + "change"

either tell him to fook off or advise him you wont send any monies for 90 days to ensure the cheque from the "agent" clears (apparently after 7 days a cheque can still bounce.....)

£6K + £5K = £11K - not £13K

Be on the look out for the scammers. They operate on eBay and Auto Trader alike. I posted the eBay one I encountered a couple of months back. I am currently helping out City Police with the Fraud investigation.

The usual trick is that should you agree to sell, you'll receive a cheque for more than the agreed value. Then you're expected to bank it and send back the change. The check you receive is forged though.

Looks as though the net is full of em.

Shame no-one real is interested, I may have to go sell it to a trader or summink at this rate.

Thanks for the help.

Well done - I think like the rest of us you immediately smelled a rat - hence your post here.

Personally I would have arranged to meet the 'Shipping Agent' at a remote location to collect the car and then not turned up - or at least watched the truck arrive from a safe distance! (Just for a chuckle you understand).

Just another point whilst you go through the selling process. Even if you are given a Bank Draft, go WITH the buyer to your bank and get it cleared into your account positively before accepting it at face value.

I have bought and sold a total of 7 vehicles on eBay now including my prized VR4. There are scammers, but also decent folk like you and I.

I had a similar scam tried on me when selling my Scooby on Autotrader.
I agreed for him to send cheque, and was just going to cash it and spend the cash - let him try and do anything about it :evil2: .
Unfortunately, he didn't fall for my scam either :rolleyes4

Well...

I'm off to look for a company car at the weekend, at the moment I'm using the above to go to work. So it may still be here for a month or so, unless someone snaps my hand off very soon. Once the company car arrives tho it will have to go as I aint got room for 2 cars in the garage.

Plus whoever buys it I will pay for the valletor/er to do the same job as that before it goes.

Cheers

Okay

My company car is going to be a Subaru Legacy 2.5 SE. I wanted to stay mitsubishi but they have naff all like the galant left to buy.

My car will be up for £7000 and this is the lowest I can go, if no one wants it then I may have to trade it in for something smaller for when the missus learns to drive.

Thanks all

Mick
