Top end knocking noise

hi all this car in the pic has a bad knock in the engine i was told the lifters needed to be replaced so i removed all of them before i replaced them i cleaned out all oil jets etc etc in both heads cams are fine so are valves tappets etc etc, bled all lifters before putting them back in but knocking noise still remains it isn't loud but it is noticeable.......please help with any ideas cheers688196882068821

i don't know of many VR4 that are complete quiet when it comes to engine noise.

the tappet can be noisy aalways, it depends on how the engine has been looked after.
the injectors can be quite loud tic tic tic as well.
what make of tappets did you use, where they genuine mitsi parts or cheap copies there have been a few sets of copy parts that have been used in the VR4 over the years that have not helped the tic tic tic noise, infact some have made it worse.

maybe a sound clip of what the knocking noise sounds like might help people diagnose issue for you.
