Headlights not working

Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone has had this issue before and if there is a simple solution.

My driving lights do not work, everything else works fine, park, spots and even full beam, just not the normal driving lights.

Checked fuses/relays, all ok, I cannot figure this one out :S

Any suggestions would be great!

Have you checked the bulbs and the connections behind the fitting?

Check to see if your car has or had fitted an aftermarket automatic light switching device.

My second Legnum had one of these fitted and I couldnt control the main beams as it had an automatic dimmer fitted. So when driving in the dark, the headlights came on ok, but as I stopped, the headlights would dim to nothing, leaving only the driving lamps! I always felt uneasy sat at a traffic light or a busy junction with no main beams. I bypassed this somehow behind the lights but I know the actual controller/relay was still fitted in the car as I always heard the click behind the dash as the dimmer activated. I suspect that your car might have something like this fitted, and either the fuse has blown for it or the relay has failed.
