Hey guys,

So whilst getting the exhaust replaced I noticed that there seemed to be oil all over the rear diff on the drivers side, I also noticed there's a tiny streak of oil on the passenger side (see pics). I've had a search on the forums and it seems like the most likely culprit is the seal being worn, just to get a second opinion what are your thoughts? Could anyone point me in the right direction as to which seals I may need? Would it be worth changing the seals on both sides whilst I'm at it?

EDIT: I've just noticed that there seems to be quite a bit of oil on the actual exhaust.......the exhaust was fitted yesterday and it's hardly been driven...is this a sign that the leak is pretty substantial?

(Apologies for the bad quality)

Looking through the side of the car towards the drivers side:

If the leak is coming from where the drive shafting enter the diff then these seal be replaced relatively easily and the seals are about £15 each from motel dealr.

Go to a dealer. They are only about £15, saving money on a cheap one is not worth it.

What do we reckon folks, leaking seal?

Oil is on NSR, OSR is dry. Had a clunking noise from the rear for a couple of months now. Only got round to checking the car the other day.

Spray with carb cleaner, wipe it off until clean, go for a drive, recheck for leaks. This is the only way to be sure where Otis coming from.
Could be from the the air vent on top of the diff, could be from the fill bolt, coil be from the drain bolt, could be from the seal.
You need to be sure before doing anything else.
