Hey,

I'm putting some evo 7 brakes on my Leggy VR4 tomorrow, but I didn't get any brake lines with the evo 7 brakes. So the question is do the evo 4 brake lines have the same connection to the calipers as the Evo 7?

Cheers,
Matt

A guy off NZMMC has told me:
"Yep, evo4 banjo connectors/bolts will fit onto the evo7 brakes."

Guess I'll find out tomorrow.

Man what a freekin mission, the rear brakes are on now. Only problems were... the bolts that came with the E7 brakes needed to be shortened. The E4 brake lines needed a copper washer to have them seal properly with E7 brakes. Triming the back plate with the angle grinder is not fun. Brake fluid in the eyes hurts. It took me 4 hours to do the first brake and 1 for the second.

Hopefully the front brakes will go better tomorrow.

I have a couple of pics of the front, that I will put up later.

When I put the front brakes on they were just bolt on and I didn't have to remove the disc back plate at all. Piece of cake, banjo connectors were perfect as well.

Now the only issue is, if I apply hard brake it makes a creeking sound on both front sides (when still or moving). Is this because I didn't remove the disc back plate?

I did some brake tests today from 110kph, 23m stopping distance in the dry on crappy NZ back road. Not bad considering internet seems to thinks it should be more like 55m+ (scary really). That's with 235/17 bridgestone potenza GIII's.

Interesting to compare the difference in sizes between e4 discs and e7...

Have you brembos already? Or are you just upgrading standards?

The Brembo's are great, very bitey. They started off a bit soft, but I think that was just crap on the discs. I look at my car with its huge front rotors and red calipers every day now and say "****n yeh!" to myself. Even the insurance people didn't seem to mind I'd upgraded them.

The only thing I wonder about is whether the proportioning valve would need adjusting with the new brakes.

How much did they cost? My Evo7 brembos with rotors and whatever pads they came with cost nz$1200.
