I know the answer is in here somewhere but how much would you pay for a set of Brembo calipers and disks off an evo 6? i believe these fit straight on to a 1998 legnum

98? I think that's a FL, if it is, then yes they will fit straight on. But beware you'll need Evo wheels, the standard wheel won't fit over the fronts.

Condition is everything. I think for a full set of calipers in good condition with all pads and discs you should be looking at £4-500. Ropey condition and just calipers £150ish. Refurbed calipers with new branded discs and pads possibly £800.

Thanks Colin and Nick these are the ones i had in mind but can't be sure till I've seen them I suppose http://www.racedandrallied.com/rally-cars-for-sale/rally-cars-parts-for-sale/set-brembo-calipers-front-and-rear-mitsubishi-evo-5-6-
There's a set of four with disks on ebay for £600 at the moment
i've also seen an Evo 6 being broken at Rallyart northwest, tried to phone them regarding the wheels, disks and calipers but can't get through. Anyone had any dealings with them in the past?

Mine is a pre facelift

billybobboot
07-09-2014, 09:19 AM
then you need facelift front hubs
unless you do like me and going to use radial calipers as I already have them and I can use stock hubs as the bracket has been made to fit car with calipers

Gly
07-09-2014, 08:37 PM
you will need fl front hub carriers and ABS sensors,

Salvo
09-09-2014, 06:44 AM
Is it just hub carriers or full hubs that I will need?

Gly

hub carriers and abs sensors.and wheels that fit over the huge brakes

and evo rear brake lines

Scott.Moehekey is looking at making some brackets to adapt brembos onto PFL hub carriers. he may be willing to sell some for the right price.

Also, the Racefab brackets could be the way to go, but I (as ever, lol) am still investigating!

Okay, I have my eye on a set of evo discs and brembo calipers
The discs measure 320 fronts 300 back.
The wheels I'm after are the tommi makinen 10 spoke
Before I go for these disks i want to make sure the wheels would fit

I'm sure that any standard evo 5 to 9 wheel will be fine.

Finally I got the tme wheels that i wanted, though it's been quite an ordeal and only two days ago I was getting ready to accept the fact that I was never going to see these wheels that I paid for over 2 weeks ago and started to look for some alternatives. Anyway they're here now and all is good. I wanted to get them sprayed pearlescent white, to match the car but ran out of time ( car booked in for the 29th Jan for conversion) and money getting a bit tight due to some unexpected expense wheels are black at the moment i'll get them resprayed in spring / summer.
I now can go ahead and order the tyres. Initially i was going for the Vredestein Quatrac 3 now I'm seeing an offer at my tyres.co.uk on Goodyear Eagle F1 for £76.89 the goodyear seem to have a higher spec.
What should I go for?
I'm also getting some redstuff pads for the front, rear pads that came with the calipers, have plenty of life in them.
i also need to order braided lines was it the rear ones that are different length? and where is the best place to order these from?
One other thing that just occurred to me is that my spacesaver wheel will soon be as useful as a chocolate ashtray is there a spacesaver that would go over the brembos?
Once complete I shall put up a full costing of how much the conversion actually costs will give an idea to those who wish to do it in future.

Have you tried to see if evos run space savers big enough to fit, or full size spares? Does a spare fit over rear brembos? Could just move wheels around to get spare on back and pull ayc fuse you can't source something

No i haven't Sean tbh still not thinking straight, overjoyed that I actually received the wheels when I lost all hope of doing so. I'll inquire about what spare evos carry /duh

Evos recommend running a space saver on the rear, so if you get a front puncture put the spare on the back and swap that to the front puncture

Another question just popped in my head. Do I need different wheel nuts for the tme wheels?

Nick Mann

VR4s recommend putting the space saver on the rear too. The stock space saver fits over rear brembos.

Yep haha, Im considering keeping one of my white 18" wheels and getting that to fit in the spare wheel well bit, since they also fit over brembos.

The only difference in wheel rim is the offset and its half an inch smaller in width to my current wheels

Would you sell me one of your white rims if you do that? Was going try and get a evo space saver but also do have my evo rims that I could use for full time spare

Badger_01

Yep I'd do that, theres no tyres on them though, but you'd put on a tyre thats the same size as whats on your other rims.

Have you got 18" rims on atm?

Sweet, No issue with me getting tyre's, Do have a spare 18" tyre sitting somewhere for when I did get hold of an spare 18" rim

Nope they sitting inside my spare room at home, It has my EVO 7 rims on at the moment.

Is there enough room in the boot to fit an 18" w tyre in the spare slot?

Nick Mann
27-12-2014, 12:47 AM
I have tried a few different options. If I remember correctly, tyre widths of 205 are okay, but 225 isn't. The diameter of the wheel is not important. You will get wider than 205 in if you modify or remove the tray under the boot floor.

Colin Wiltshire

If it's a Galant, we only have the bit of plastic that sits in the spare wheel, not the tray like the Legnums.

So I'm ok with my existing spacesaver which by the way sits in the boot as I have the lpg tank where the spare would be
